I'll take that, there was never going to be a easy draw to be fair.

Correct everyone wanted the "easy" tie v Fev.
To be fair, they would raise their game for us, Cas and Leeds, so it might have ended up being a poisoned chalice.
Salford away (out of all the away possibilities) isn't the worst by a long stretch of the imagination.
We could turn this into a home fixture.

| We don't need to fear anybody and nobody in that draw would have felt comfortable if they'd drawn Wakefield Trinity.
We've been very good in every game bar Leeds away and for half an hour Vs Cas away.
We are a very good team and someone at some point is going to be unlucky to catch us on the day we string it together for 80 minutes.

| Its not the worst no, can't say I'm happy about it but I suppose you can only really hope for a home tie at this stage, if you don't get that it doesn't look as if it matters that much, ba Fev.
Dunno about the idea that Wire Wigan is the tie of the round ???, was that all about, Wire Wigan.....really ?, it Cas Codheads by absolute light years surely.
wire wigin......pfft

| This is a real test.
The 2 most improved teams in the league.
We need to be there in massive numbers as Salford struggle with their attendances.
I would politely ask MC to make this game as affordable to fans as possible by subsidising coach travel.
I think that we took 10 coaches to Widnes on their return to super league.
This is a big marketing challenge and a semi final spot would be a massive catalyst to the remaining season ahead.
Up the Trin. See you all in Newcastle next week. I have a car of 4 including 2 curious Barnsley residents.

What ruling the roost that's got us to 6th and made us competitive in nearly every match.

Agreed
Our style of rugby has been excellent and if Kear has been the reason for our improved defence, I'm all for it !.
We've only come under pressure when we have made an error and followed it be conceding a penalty on the back of it.
At the moment, there is only Cas that should hold any fear for us and their bubble will burst some time (hopefully).
Having said all that, Salford have shown some real quality and it will be a tough ask to beat them on their patch but, if we get plenty of support over there, we may be able to give our boy's the edge.
Come on Trin.

| Avoiding Cas, Hull or Wigan was the main objective IMHO. Salford away is a fair test but not impossible.
Not that keen on attending at the AJ Bell Stadium to be honest though. Hope we don't get a Friday night slot!

| You have to be good enough to beat anybody, home or away in my opinion to deserve to progress in the cup. Cas, Hull, Wigan or Warrington away would have been more formidable - no disrespect to Salford who have made big strides this season, it's just that I feel we have more chance against Salford than the others.

As far as crowds go home or away to any of the other six would have generated more interest and more £££££.
For one reason or another we've never been to AJ Bell Stadium so it might be time to make the trip.

Is this a joke post? Absolutely bizarre statement if not!
As a matter of interest would that be the style of rugby that saw us thumped in last years CCup semi?

| Kear - 5 drives and a kick attack, rock solid defence
Chester - expansive and creative attack and counter attack, loose defence
Chester + Kear - expansive attack, and solid defence
We need both of their coaching techniques to make us into the competitive team we had become. Two seasons ago we were the easy points, now people have begun to change their opinion

I know poor you! You'll have to ditch the dungarees you had planned for Wakey and pop your finest tuxedo on instead.
Funny how you lot seem happy with the draw just as we are on our board. I'm quietly confident that home advantage might just sway it for us and the way we've been playing I don't think we fear anyone. Cas away was the obvious one everyone wanted to avoid but we've turned them over once this season and they're human. We've also won at Hull & Wigan so we have to look at this as a great opportunity to make the semis. Wakey are a dangerous team tho and have pace to burn in the backline so we have to keep your speedsters in check. Do that and I'm confident we'll prevail. The league game at the start of June should give a good indication of how the cup match may pan out but I'd expect no more than a couple of scores(max) to separate the teams. And as your new feeder club I'm hoping the likes of MCB, BJB, Ashurst etc have absolute stinkers!
And yes, our support (numbers wise) is . Hopefully, logic prevails and we get the Sunday slot but head says they'll shaft us and stick us on Thursday night!icon_sad.gif

| A group of us at Dewsbury had this as one of the tie's to avoid! Salford away will be very
tough.
I can definitely see this being a Thu night game.
