Seems light on wingers and heavy on centres. Perhaps that has something to do with Dewsbury not being a particularly wide pitch so the wingers wouldn't get too much space

Given their head knocks last week i'd probably leave Miller & Lyne out of that squad and play Williams and Tupou. Bit surprised we aren't giving Grix another break and Jowitt another go but other than that its pretty much what i'd expected.

As a side note does anyone know what has happened to Annakin? Doesn't seem to be getting any game time anywhere?

Reece Lyne, MCB and Gibson all capable of playing on the wing IMO so shouldn't be a massive issue

Tupou played most of his career on the wing before joining us as well

Max has been playing on Dual registration for Dewsbury, it seems unfair to me to force him into playing against a team who he played for the week previous

Walker played for them last week and he's in the squad.

7 or 8 players in the squad have played for Dewsbury this season.

Why does the mean he's being pushed out - he's 20 years old and the back up F/B. Why risk him when we may need cover if Grix is injured. Is Crowther being pushed out or Batchelor because he wasn't playing last week?

Not wishing to be too pedantic but, IF Jowitt played, Grix wouldn't get injured and therefore, Jowitt wouldn't be needed as cover ?
Although we want to make sure of the win, surely, this of all games, would be the chance to play the likes of Jowitt, Crowther and Batch ?

Just as long as he does not play for another team and becomes cup tied you can see CC wants the team to keep winning and playing well together, keeping momentum for the next few games to get us to 20 pts

I don't see how Max is being pushed out? He's still very young and learning all the time...he will get plenty of chances...

Grix is a senior player and an important one at that...with Kirmond and Huby sitting this one out I think it's definitely right to stick with the experience of Grix at the back...

I'd play the strongest team available as I reckon continuity is crucial...it will be less intense than if it was a super league team and we've extra turnaround time on Widnes, so no need to rest IMO...strongest available 17...

If Hadley had been fit it would have been interesting to see if he got a game.

That is a very good point mr chissitt it would have given us a indication if he was staying until the end of the season.

Speaking to some Dewsbury fans this evening and they've not been overly impressed with Jowitt, they reckon he's got a long way to go before he's ready to take on super league full time. They also reckon that they've got a good chance against our team and think that we've been a bit disrespectful by putting in a few fringe players and resting some main players

These fringe players have played many SL games between them so I don't think it's disrespectful at all. If they think they've got a good chance then they must have improved since the last time I watched them where the so called fringe players were the best 2 in the side.

Well I'd still fancy the squad we've named to beat a couple of teams in Super League let alone a team that's won one out of twelve in the Championship. We'll see come Friday whether we've been disrespectful but I highly doubt it.

That's what I said, I didn't think we'd been disrespectful but we're obviously going to rest some players too as the cup is just a nice distraction to the main aim which must be securing SL status for another year

That's not far off a full strength side. I'm not sure what they are getting at. I would be worried if that side could not beat Dewsbury, no disrespect meant in that but they have nearly all got a lot of SL games under their belt and have been performing pretty well in SL
