| Of the 72 floodlight bulbs I counted 26 as blown. My maths tells me that the pitch was less than 2/3 lit. Add to that the leaking roof, clock and the puddles to name but a few...well, maybe someone isn't putting much money , if indeed any, into the infrastructure. I know we maybe departing or refurbishing, but that has been the case for many a year and is not an excuse to allow the old lady to fall around our very feet whilst still watching, sitting or standing. Whilst I'm at it, I'll mention that surely in the modern age payment for entry should be accessible through card payment - quite a few disgruntled Leeds fans at ticket office who did not have the 'cash only'.
Did anybody else spot the Chairman's missus walking down the East Stand with a sweeping brush - I tell thee, ya couldn't mek it up !
I must add that it would be wonderful to see Belle Vue brought back to its former glory. When you look past the problems you see such a vibrant stadium full of individuality. Every side has its own characteristics ( yeh I know those flats are a carbuncle ) and the backdrop with all the milling people in glorious sunshine, or evening dusk, oozes colour. Add to that the closeness of the crowd and Belle Vue restored as a crown jewel would be the envy of all the drab and shallow modern stadia that other RL clubs have chosen to adopt.
Maybe we should apply to Channel 4 and get that Restoration Man in to perk the place up but keep its 'listed ' qualities. Leeds restored its Victorian Quarter – well how about our Victorian Quarter aka Belle Vue. Actually, does anybody know if any of the stadium is in fact 'listed' ? #justaskin

Yes, I have. I think it would be great if Belle Vue could be re-built, or at least renovated, as a state of the art Victorian rugby / football ground. Maybe the wood would have to be some kind of modern equivalent but think of the potential tourist attraction, grandstands with wrought iron artefacts adorning them and everything retro but beneath all that state of the art all mod cons, safety wise at least.. Would this be the first stadium of it's kind in the modern world? Maybe grants could be obtained for this kind of thing.

| Cheers Miro and lampyboy. Thought I was being ignored.
Can you imagine the interest and media publicity a project of this kind would produce - coming to Trinity would be like a day out to Beamish.

| Maybe we could persuade Russel Crowe to remake This Sporting Life and invest in the renovation of the oldest surviving purpose built Rugby League ground in the world as a location?

| I have no problem with the Benidorm flats , a small area for standing in the front would be better. Possibly a bbq area or family area so kids can be in a safe environment .

| I thought it was looking gloomy. Of course in the back of the East Stand you can't see the top of the Floodlights! NOW this is a revolutionary thought! I don't believe Newmarket will happen if we and our future kin pray from now until the year 3000. But a collective supporter push to raise funds to renovate BV? It would be interesting to know how much it would take and if there is any public money anywhere on any grounds that might be accessible. I very much doubt the latter but social media can be very powerful and fan fund-raising and fan social media broadcasting...who knows. May as well do something as Newmarket is sadly appearing to be pie in the sky (yes I know this post probably is too but BV is not sustainable much longer and we have to start thinking of something else)

| We need a upgrade badly. Puddles.around ground, rocks, weeds, poor for viewing, got wet through. It showed it's age Friday.
Wasn't a enjyable experience one bit. I agree the modern grounds are awful. We need Yorkcourt to pay and sort it the modernising of Belle Vue quickly. Bout time Box sold all the crap in Hepworth and gave it to the real asset. TRINITY AND BELLE VUE

| I would rather we had a fully renovated Belle Vue over a new stadium any day.
However it would have to be a full renovation, with no half measures, even if it meant us moving away to say Oakwell or Dewsbury for the season.
If I remember rightly, the roof on the North Stand went up in a few weeks
The Benidorm flats are OK, and serve a purpose.
Personally, I would like to see new stands build for the East and West, with our hospitality area, running length ways, rather than behind the posts, with the area where the flats were, changed to terracing for the away fans. I actually like the idea of how one of the sides is at Craven Park, where you have a small terrace, behind that are hospitality suites, and then behind that a stand. I also part like the Carnegie Stand idea. It is a big stand, though isn't too deep, in doing this, there isn't too much ground space taken up.
Not one for copying ideas, but think they are practical, and we could put our own mark on it.
