| What a cool customer with those pressure conversions! 3rd in the league table behind Sneyd and Gale.

| His goal kicking has been the difference so often this season , no more so than yesterday. I was one of those who frowned at the signing but I am happily eating humble pie. Well done Liam Finn.

| Way way way more than just a goal kicker. He's one of the best SH in the game in terms of play making and game management - if the lad had any pace he'd be world class, but he hasn't, Scruton is quicker.

| Vasty. If someone else had used the phrase 2world class" you'd have jumped all over them.
I do agree he is a great scrum half. Works perfectly with Miller now they are more in tune.
If we could have a collection to buy him some pace I'd give straight away.
They remind me a little of Fox and Steadman.

| I like when he does that big step at the line, and the whole world goes into sloooow motion...
I guess if he was quicker, his career would have gone a different direction - but given that limitation, he's done really well; and his deadeye kicking has been a big positive for us this year. Wish we could wind the clock back a few years - he'll be hard to replace.

Would I really. So why with real pace wouldn't he - what is your problem, you're all over Miller like he's your love child.

Correct, and that's when you realise he can never fulfil his potential and why he plays for us.
In an odd way I think it's his slowness that allows him to get the best out of himself and the mostly non super stars he's surrounded by.

Sometimes, a self-aware and determined individual can acknowledge a limitation and work hard to compensate for it - by making themselves better at other things. Take the over-representation of dyslexics in the CEO community as an example. Maybe Finn is the Richard Branson of RL?

| He is a really good kicker and is really proving his value to the club.
We scored less tries and still won. I think we have done this 3 times this season.

| What impressed me most about Finn on Sunday was his defence - Catalans just kept trying to run over the top of him but he held his nerve. Most halfbacks would see Stewart or Taylor charging towards them and back off and wait for someone else.

| Crazy to think he barely kicked a goal for us. Delighted to see him still doing it in super league. He's a cool character.

Yes, just like that Vasty.
I think Finn is a great signing for us, and said so when we signed him, as did you.
I have liked him since I saw him Captain Ireland in the world cup and saw how he marshalled a team of average players against some top NRL players. He was just the kind of player/leader we needed.
But to say he would be world class we'll just have to agree to differ
I guess it is how you use the phrase. Is Matty Smith World class? He plays for England but he isn't world class imho. Finn would be like him. Worthy of International call up to GB if he had pace, but not sure he would be world class like Wally Lewis or Andrew Johns.

I can't quite decide whether he thinks he has the pace and is surprised every time or whether he just does it to keep the defence on their toes (as he should really)

I used world class in it's widest sense, thought that was obvious, so yes the Matty Smith analogy is apt.

Someone I saw coach kids a lot called it "keeping them honest." I think that's what he's about when he does that - just to let them know that he won't always throw the pass out.

| Who were our regular Half-backs back in the day when we shipped him out? It's a shame he's played the best part of his years in the Championship.

Rooney and Jeffries I thought, although I remember watching him play in the friendly against Fev below, and Handforth was still with us.
