| First of all, what were people actually thinking on Sunday? That we'd demolish a travelling Catalan side...? Catalans have some world class players (believe it or not) and even though they haven't had the best of starts to the competition as well as not known for travelling particularity well this was always going to be a game we would be struggling in. They have a world class stand off with a strong back line as well as a big pack - Dave Taylor was literally unplayable. I thought that we competed for 50-60 minutes and if it wasn't for the poor start conceding 4 trys then I thought we may have even snatched the game. Unfortunately it didn't happen and at least we're learning these valuable lessons at the beginning of the season rather than the back end of the season. We have a relatively new team and still have one or two players that will improve the team once they return from injury. These players are still learning combinations and I actually believe we are improving every game. We don't have any super star players but once these players gel I believe we will be competing with every team. Apart from Castleford (who have arguably been on the best teams in the competition these first 5 rounds) I believe we have. There may be some dead wood within the team but we aren't in the position to be paying players off and bringing in new players (that is if they are even available at this part in the season).
Belle Vue seems to have no atmosphere its almost as like the fans are nervous we now don't start chanting until we score a try! ,
players often say that the crowd is an 18th man and maybe if we showed some energy at the beginning of the games maybe it might show on the pitch and we may start well - who knows?
5 rounds of a 23 round season, we are roughly a 1/4 into the season. This first half of the season we are playing away more than we are at home, which is a bit crap for us at the minute but could actually be handy for us to hit some form coming to the end of the regular season.
Time to get a bit optimistic and look on the bright side of things as the club is now being run properly and is actually turning over a profit as well as plenty of off field improvement as fans we should also try and contribute as much as we can even if it is just chanting at games!

| Good for you Dreadnought.
It's a long season (especially for us) Time will tell I'm sure but I'm actually enjoying the season so far.

| When you go 26 nil down after 25 minutes at home it's hardly going to make the crowd come alive is it?
Let's be realistic. The game is effectively over.
Can hardly blame the speccies for the poor atmosphere last Sunday - for me it's the lazy tacklers on the pitch at fault.
THEY must try harder!

| The support has been subdued this season (much like the teams performance) but, Sunday was better than being at Warrington, where the Wakey fans were the quietest I've ever known.
We just need to take a deep breath and get behind the boys.
We do look to be in for another gruelling season and we look nailed on to be in the Middle 8, which is probably the reason for the apathy from the fans and with how things are looking, our season will only start after the split.
Before the season began, we had 3 home fixtures where we may have expected to win: Salford, Widnes and Catalan but, we have already missed our chance on 2 of these.
If RL had 1 up, 1 down promotion and relegation, things would be different as every victory or loss would have far more significance but, with the current system, this just isn't the case.
For clubs like ours, it will be a major challenge to keep the fans interest until the middle 8's, already some fans are losing interest.
Personally, I go to games to support the team but, probably more for the social aspect. Have a couple of pints and enjoy the craic with some mates.

| Regarding your point about atmosphere, is it any wonder considering the season the fans endured last year? The majority of this group are still here from last year and so they should be making it up to the fans not the other way around.

| I think Sunday was a perfect example of how what happens on the field directly influences the fans reaction. When the booing started I have to admit it did make me cringe because as a player that must be the worst thing to hear from your own but when we started to score the Northstand found their voice and the whole atmosphere changed completely and it does visibly lift the team.

| The thing that affects the fans after last year is an early collapse.
Both Warrington and Catalan had early soft tries that make you just sigh and fear the worst.
When the guys are toughing out defending their line the fans light up.
It's a partnership.

| The point I was trying to get across is if the fans are in voice from the beginning of the game maybe the players will turn up? It is understandable why aren't singing but IMO I think these early starts to games are whats killing us and we're not hitting the ground winning which could potentially mean we may win a few more. Anything is worth a try and it is very little effort no-one is denying the poor basic rugby league players but once we get rolling we're have decent as we have previously seen. We dont have a team of world beaters but we some very loyal supporters who have been through think and thin and at the end of the day we all 'love' trinity and that is why we attend the games we do whether its for the social or the rugby.
We are not a million miles away and there is a possibility if we do the little things maybe the players will pull their fingers out.

Exactly we are where we are and if the fans don't rally round this could well be the last throw of the dice for trinity in superleague being realistic its backs to the wall, muck or nettles we have to go with what we have and make a fist of it because along with the ground being up for sale we do not have a lot going for us at the moment including the coach, so its up to you guys do we want superleague next year or are we going to be a championship side.

I'm with you Dreadnought.
Perhaps it's up to the fans to inspire the team.
I know that they should be ready to play, as they are paid professionals but, if we are behind the team before the off, it has to help.
At the moment, there are too many fans just waiting to get stuck into the players if they make a mistake.
COME ON TRIN !!!

Another one that doesn't go to the games 0-26 down after 20mins with lack of effort. Excitement gone but that's the club at fault for giving garbage longer deals, the same garbage don't give any effort every week.

I am a season ticket holder and only missed the Warrington this game this season including the pre-season games, however what has my post got to do with 'not attending games', I agree below standard players have been kept however the point of my post is potentially showed some energy the players would have too. However I am not here for arguements especially with people who are not worth arguing with because they are that deluded.
My point is for us to get behind the team now, we are all Wakefield Trinity fans.

Considering you've had numerous warnings please refrain from having a go at posters and stick to your own point.
No one has to justify whether they go to games to you or not.

| I'm not so naïve that I don't think the players read the posts on this forum, but if they do I would think that they would be of two differing opinions: one set on reading the posts would think something along the lines of "Well, stuff 'em, if that's what they think, then why should I bother; the other camp would probably think " Ey up, if we're that bad let's try and improve and show 'em". Unfortunately, I think that we have more of the former group than the latter.
