Loved the performance and effort today. What a difference a close season makes with a top coach, we defended very well, we kicked well. our defence round the ruck was fab and Anderson put a player on his backside. Well done everybody.

Defence was better than I've seen for at least a season. And that's one on one and cover defence too when Leeds broke away.
They were lucky to get their try.

Effort was excellent. That's pretty much all I ask.

Finn showed what a difference a good organiser can make. He is just what we need.

Good solid defensive effort. You can tell Brian Smith has got them training harder now.

Great win for Trinity today, coming away from Headingley with the spoils is always difficult nowerdays so credit to the whole club for downing a strong a Rhinos team.

10 Grand Final players in their in their line up with the likes of Galloway and Falloon also adding to their starting teams strength. Sure they had a couple missing but so did Wakefield and let's remember they were at home.

I don't think it makes us favourites for the Grand Final but it certainly offers us lots of optimism for the coming season and a run at the top 8.

Little gripe, wear white shorts & socks with the white away kit! (if thats all I've got to complain about I'd be happy to wear blue though)

What was also really pleasing was the fitness levels looked to have really improved, tough conditions today but the intensity level never dropped!

Great from the lads today. Didn't mind getting Ps wet through to watch a display like that. Good defence, excellent kicking game and sound attack in the conditions. Thought the ten minute sin binning was a bit harsh in a friendly but that's Silverwood for you. Keep up the good work boys. see you in the top 8.

Just to echo what's been said,the fitness and defence was the most noticeable thing today,great effort,great win against a team full of young ones

They need Sutcliffe back in the 6 shirt.
They missed the direction today.

If you watch the Leeds video it's all focused on Leeds play if course but it shows the improved line speed. It doesn't look anything like the team from last year.

Finn and Miller looked good.
Tansey was much better at fullback..... But is unlikely to unseat BJB.

Tupou and Simon will add a lot to the team.

I'm quite looking forward to the season while still being sensible about expectations.

I thought the attitude from the players in defence was great

England impressed me certainly looked nasty and had a bit in him without letting his discipline go

Anderson and scruton were themselves and thought Arona caused them problems in the line with his carries and getting his hands free

Finns kicking game was great his marshalling also

Back 3 of BJB & Johnstone in particular has pace to burn

As smith says one step at a time and let's not kid ourselves at the end of last season were for me considerably far off the rest of SL - but I'm not complaining

What smith does seem to be doing is building a very good spirit with the lads - Kirmond at the final whistle ran 50 yds to high five Aronas kids and get them over to where the trophy was been lifted.

I'm absolutely sure that the lack of effort will be a thing of the past. B S will demand a new culture at the club and players that buy in to it will be rewarded with a first team place and a personal development . B S s the best thing to happen At Trinity for a long long time.
