reports here today that he wants oout of Penrith and is close to joining a super league club for 2016- is he the halfback that we have been trying to sign?

He was excellent when playing for the panthers though the year before.
Under normal circumstance I would suggest Wallace probably wouldn't look at a club like ours. however with other clubs recruitment in place we maybe lucky

His last contract was for approx £150k in Aus (300k Aus$), can't see him coming over here for much, if any, less than that.

Surely on that basis it would rule us out, would be very surprised if we were in for and got him. Sounds like a Salford signing to me....

Definitely not the name I’ve heard. However it’s not an impossible signing but it is unlikely. At 30 he’s unlikely to get another NRL contract - certainly not at that rate. He’s very familiar to BS. I suppose with the money we had available and what we could free up from getting rid of Hall we might be able to offer some kind of deal. Also a one year deal and a good season with us might attract other SL teams so it’s a good shop window for him.

Still don’t see it myself but it’s a possibility. One things for sure that would catapult us forward in a big way and I would say that his signing might actually win a few fans back as it really would be a show of intent.
He'd certainly want to be first choice which will add pressure to Finn and Miller. Much as I like both these players it would be very hard to leave Wallace out.

Also he's of Scottish decent and has played for them so he should be ok over here unlike Isaac John (???) the big wus.

I would have loved to see us push the boat out on a top scrum half, and had he been available earlier could have possibly seen a deal put together. Unfortunately, I cannot see us having the kind of money required to land him at this late stage.

Wallace is a good player in the NRL - in SL, he'd be amongst the best halves in the comp; and he's a ginge, so the lack of sun will be in his favour.

I can't see him coming here - but if he did, I'd be cock-a-hoop.

Not the career ending injury it once was. Almost a badge of honour these days, it wouldn't bother me.

Wallace would be a great signing but his game is much like Finns (only better) so I'm not sure we could play them side by side, it'd be either or I think.

At 30 he might be happy to have the opportunity to play in SL and I font think he'd be demanding anywhere near £150k a season. A 2 year deal with a further 3rd year as an option might tempt him to come for less money due to the job security.

I fully understand the reasons why WTW management keep things under wraps but not really why posters on here do, unless, of course, it's because they don 't want egg on their faces when the deal doesn't come off, so come on Avenger risk it and spill the beans!

In my case it's exactly that - I don't walnut egg on my face. The guy who's given me the nod m.is very reliable but can't be sure if a deal is done. In which case I don't want to compromise anyone. I've posted wrongly before and I'd rather not do it again. Also he might not tell me next time and I rarely get any gossip these days!

I've heard one name of a player who might be with us next year, that's all I said, I'm not claiming to have anything more than that.
As Vastman has said, if the clubs still talking to said player then I certainly don't want to be the one who kaiboshes the deal by revealing a name prematurely.
