I see that Higham's trip on Smith was ruled that a penalty was sufficient punishment unfortunately we did not get one in fact the commentators hardly made reference to it.

Tony Martin's a bad enough touch judge, but i once saw him ref a game in the National Conference. Jeez! Are numbers seriously that bad that we have to keep wheeling him out. He seems to do about 3 games a weekend??

I still don't understand how they did not get the word from up above? Sky replayed it 3 times prior to the old fools comment about it been nothing more than a penalty? Someone could easily have had a word in the refs ear.

The knee in Scrutons side was even worse as it was done deliberately to cause injury, yet the boneheads on Sky missed it completely and thought he'd twisted his knee!

The boneheads on Sky can miss what they like - what I'm baffled by is how a referee, two touch judges and 2 VR's can miss an incident like that, or fail to come up with a good decision about the Smith incident. Unless they didn't want to...

Seems to me like there's some very selective viewing going on where the video ref is concerned. They didn't pick up on the Smith and Scruton incidents but had no problem with Sio and the Liam Kay not in touch incidents.

Are the video refs overstepping their mandate? Should they be used for anything other than try or no try decisions?

Should each team be allowed to submit a list of incidents they want looking at after each game?
