Did he disregard the policy? If so does he think he's above the rules however petty?

What is the point of preventing people taking open plastic bottles into the ground. I struggle to see what the benefit is of this restriction, I say again we are not a football club.

Which is it Rod, how can you be ejected from the ground if you are refused entry in the first place, two Wire fans in front of me at the turnstile both with a bottle of coke had no problem getting in despite two stewards in attendance, perhaps your still traumatised from your botched interview with Brian McDermott on Thursday night

Was the problem really with the coke or was it because it was in a can?

A lad behind us in the queue had a bag full of bottles of coke, crisps and sweets. The security bloke asked to have a look in his bag and all he said was "you're well prepared aren't you' and he followed us through.

So why do some seemingly get thrown out with a bottle and others have no problems with whatever? Is it different staff acting differently or is it the attitude of those searched or ....?

My mate walked in with an unopened bottle of water in his hand and didn't get questioned about it by any of the 2 stewards on the gate.

Or some people simply determined to make a bit of mischief where ever possible.

Do you all take your own drinks to the pub as well?

Perhaps the steward couldn't tell what his complaint was because all he could hear was endless wittering with poor diction whilst transfixed by the permanent ball of spit in the corner of his mouth and the expression that said, "haven't I just said something really smart".

Ah Rod Studd. If tomorrow I became the producer on Sky he'd be out the door probably before Stevo and Eddie. Awful pundit or whatever he is. Just seems to be making a mountain out of a mole hill (again).

Although this doesn't apply to Rod, as he was probably using a press pass, but we are a poorly supported club who seem to prefer to alienate people willing to spend £22 to get in so that we can make 20p profit on a can of pop once inside.

On the other hand, we must also be one of the few sets of fans who put more stock in having a picnic inside as opposed to watching rugby.

As I see it, its more to do with open cans/bottles, maybe to stop spirits being consumed

You all say it's only Stubbs but whatever you may hope he is still part of the media and to alienate them with this stupid restriction will do us no good in the long run. I would remind some of you it was the same restriction that lost the club and forum one moderator and their family.

Seems to me he only tried to 'bend' the rules to create 'mischief' and has succeeded in doing so.

How did he know what the 'rules' were prior to turning up at the turnstile?

I know - this is all turning into one heck of a mystery. Someone needs to come clean about all of this.

Because as a journalist he will of 'got wind of ' the stewarding controversy at Wakefield and thought, ' maybe I can stir things up and get a story'.
That's what journalists do!
By the way if we were in the top four and challenging for honours I bet these stewarding issues would be non existent.

They should stop the lot, saw some bloke squirting water out of a bottle at people on Sunday in the home end!

Either that or take a bit more care selling booze to people already well oiled!
