| Not sure who took over from Norris at the the Guinness Book of Records but feel we should be in contact with them to notify re two possible entries for the next issue :
firstly Ian Kirk must be a record breaker with 13 weeks ( still counting ) away with a groin strain
Secondly the voters of Walefield who keep returning Box, Jeffries etc to power who appoint their overpaid cronies such as Wallhead to positions of power and are then surprised when their incompetent councillors fail to delivery on a new community stadium even when they have been given the power to enforce it. The Guinness book of records can enter the voters of Wakefield as record breakers for repeatedly voting the most unfit for purpose councillors into power ever in the history of local elections.

| Hadn't realised it had been so long out for Kirke. You're right we should just make him play, even if he is not yet fully fit. Who cares if it means we lose him for even longer.

Think you should have a sleepover with NGB4C.
Then you can do each other's hair and paint your nails whilst bitching abouts boys!

OP is worse than NGBC, at least the player gets a couple of games under his belt before NGBC has him as a scapegoat!
I think the best and expect the OP was in jest!
I can remember lot's of players coming back too soon from groin injuries and paying for it.
One was a long time ago in the 60's - Jan Prinsloo who was a great winger and had scored 24 tries by October (season started then in later August of course) He got a groin injury and because he was apparently pushed into coming back too soon managed only another six tries for the rest of the season. Then he went home to South Africa!

Perhaps if Wakefield council just represented Wakefield things might be different, but when they are responsible for 5 towns as well whose electorate only want what's best for their area, and who the large majority of them don't give a toss about a stadium for what they perceive as solely for WTW. While ever the 5 towns are included it will always be labour controlled because they only know how to vote one way and Mr Box and Co. will always rule the roost, and I don't see anything changing any time soon.
Re your posts Ian kirke it's about as stupid and boring as that flat cap you wear.

| Its not a flat cap its a Newsboy style hat. Kirke isnt my scapegoat I just think he is taking the michael.I was brought up watching Skerett, Idle, John Burke, the Rayne twins, Lampy, Belly, John Thompson ; groin strain my . Something an outside back may complain about not a prop forward. My scapegoat is the public of Wakefield who are not supporting the club. Another 2000 on home gates would allow us so much more. I think the board have done a great job with limited resources, I think they need a Rugby committee to advise re signings etc and to question and support the coaching staff. I fully expected us to be in the bottom four, I am delighted with the two wins, been impressed with the effort and attitude ( except Widnes and first 15 mins against Hudds ) , dissapointed with some of the team an positional selections , gutted with the injury situation. Proud to support the lads. I stayed on Sunday to clap the lads of because of the massive effort out in by Scrutom, Ali, McShane, Kirmond, D Smith, Simon, TSmith, Owen and Riley. Not the best players in the League but I felt they gave it 100% which is all I expect.

| Yea like London they consider the suburbs and the city of London is a dump isn't it = not. Leeds City Centre a dump isn't it = Not same with Sheffield. We must be only city that concentrate others around us Wakefield as a city going so far back thanks to these clowns in power its a dump . So your happy with the slowest laziest winger in league for 3 years. Fair enough.

Bizarre to compare us with big cities like London and Leeds. We just have the unfortunate position of being in close proximity to some large towns that aren't quite big enough to warrant their own council. To put it in perspective, London has about 30 councils within it's borders.

Even Bradford City centre looking ok. Valley Parade v good ground
Why you sticking up for council apart from Saturday Wakefield is a ghost town at 7pm it's not right. Wakefield the city is the priority then later build the towns up.

There's more to it than that, if you compare Wakey now to how it was even 10 years ago, it's much improved.
From the train station to the new shopping centre, merchant gate (not taken off yet but it will), the redevelopment of the bull ring and surrounds, the revamped college, the hepworth - I could go on!
Ok there's nothing earth shattering in there but I don't think they're doing a bad job all in all. Stadium aside of course.

| When they say WAKEFIELD and 5 towns why isn't Ossett/Horbury included in this . I agree Wakefield needs a council that represents the Wakefield City region.

I presume Horbury/Ossett is part of the Wakefield part of the title. That is why I could not understand why "Wakefield" was missing from the Cas Stadium title.
Is it not 1 council Wakefied & Five Towns ?

| Horbury and Ossett have always been part of Wakefield City so don't figure in the 5 towns bit. Cas and the rest were part of West Riding County Council. In the 1974 local government reorganisation the WYCC was abolished and Cas etc. merged with Wakefield. The reorganisation was done nationally and local councillors had little or no say in it. For them to retain some identity the idea of the 5 towns was used. I'm sure we'd have wanted something like the same if we'd have been merged with Leeds.
The reason the authoriy is always Labour controlled is called democracy. It may not always give you the result YOU want but it is democracy (something the US don't understand in their foreign policy). Changing the boundaries to give you the result YOU want is not democracy.
Sorry for such a sensible/boring post but them I'm probably just a boring old git!

Not sure if your 100% correct here, Iirc Ossett had its own council till the time you mention, and as for Kirkamgate and surrounding area's they came under Stanley Council which also included parts of Eastmoor and Normanton, by area Stanley Rdc dwarfed Wakefield Udc. that must make two of us then

| All the moaning about councillors not delivering a community stadium and Wakey being a dump, when the two are not connected is strange.
BellyCouldTackle, the stadium would have been built out of town, so it would not have a positive impact on businesses in the city.
NGB4C, when you look out of your mansion across the rolling fields, what do you see where the ground should be built?
On the other hand Cas have got their planning permission granted for their ground, which will be an extension of the Xscape and Junction 32 complex.
So tell me which one you would approve?
