| I agree. No sign of a bias performance there. We won despite the ref tonight, which makes it all the sweeter.

| The one that really got my goat was the clear goal line drop out in the first half given as a pen for dragging the Widnes player back in goal. If that had been a questionable grounding for a try I can be 99% certain it would have gone to screen and been given as a try. Hard to be positive on replay but looked very likely to have been grounded on line hence drop out. The snap decision for a pen was very poor and changed the course of the game at that point.

| I thought he controlled the game well. Got the odd isolated decision wrong but that's always gonna happen. No complaints from where I was stood

| Something that cropped up again tonight and really gets my goat, is holding the ball in the scrum to get the penalty.
It nearly cost us the win as got widnes from their own line to ours.
Wigan did it against us as well. Some may say it is smart play, but I think it is against the spirit of the game

Thaler is one of the best we have in the game

Got to disagree. It used to be called 'scrumaging' Clever play for me.

| The holding down he allowed dissapointed me, slowed the game down big style especially in the first half..Anyway Richard Moore was offside from a kick apparently which led to one of our tries. Dont know havent seen it on TV, but he got that wrong aswell

| Betts must live in a different world to me:
Sky sports news:
Betts insists that Smith's try should have been disallowed because Wakefield prop Richard Moore was offside when he made the tackle that forced Alex Gerrard to spill a crucial pass near his own line.
"He was three metres offside but the referee never checked it and that's the consistency in the game," Betts said. "I'm sat here frustrated because it was a game we should have won...."

| Widnes had enough ball in the first half to win 3 games. The fact they went in only 0-4 up suggests it wasn't just a possible offside decision that cost them the game.

| He fact that Widnes didn't win that game came down to two things, the efforts we put into defending and the simple fact that they really aren't very good.
That one of us, them, one of the Hull sides or maybe even Salford will be a play off side this season, despite all of us being garbage for the majority of the year, doesn't say much for the quality of superleague.

Everytime they lose it is ref fault and widnes was better side.they where off side all game and there first hslf try came from a penalty for them knocking on as it was never a ball steal

| Not a Thaler fan and I think the current strict interpretation of the obstruction rule (without any common sense applied whatsoever) is turning the game into a circus

| Widnes were just as guilty of obstruction a couple of times and nothing came of it.
Holding down appauling -they should have had one in the bin at some point. I think it requires our players to play the game, however, and at least look like they're trying to get up!
Offside nearly every play- but the linesman has to take some responsibility for this - the ref can't be watching the play of the ball, and left and right along the line.
Two tries gievn away from total brain farts in tracking back as if out for a Sunday stroll, totally contrasted to the great cover tackle by Keinhorst and friends which I agree changes the game.
WE WON THAT'S WHAT MATTERS

Spot on for me, also if Moore had been offside then the VR would have picked up on it when Thaler went to the screen for Timmy's touchdown, instead of making excuses about the ref Betts should address the short comings of his team which on last nights evidence are rubbish and in a false position.

| For me he had a good game, kept it flowing and very few penalties. Unfortunately the players (from both sides) couldn't take advantage with a few handling errors etc.
Surly he has to be the best ref in the comp at the moment?

| I thought he had a pretty decent game, barring a few obvious errors, which always happens.
For me though, he allowed Widnes to take far too many liberties in the ruck; they were laying on, slowing and spoiling throughout the game - our players could help with that though, by fighting to get up a bit more effectively.
Betts is a proper moaning get though - he has a habit of growling about the ref after a game; when he says they "should have won," perhaps he should be looking to his own players to find out why they didn't, rather than blaming the ref?

| The kick-through which resulted in Kevin Brown trying to get the ball back into play happened right in front of us, and was a 50/50 decision that I initially thought had been called correctly, however when the replay came up on the big screen, the person who was most interested in scrutinising it was Thaler himself, and I think he then realised that he had got it wrong, as the ball was clearly grounded on the line.
I honestly thought he had a poor game last night and was disappointed that he did not penalise Widnes more often for lying on, as they did it in every tackle !!!
