| A good interview with honest a well thought out answers. It might not be what some on here were hoping for but it does make sense to go with the existing infrastructure.

| Well MC is right RA is a smashing bloke, honest and intelligent.
Never had any issues with that.
I can understand the views on a new coach and backroom staff but I have to say I think conditioning and fitness look to be way off the mark.
Not grumbling mind just offering an opinion.

From a business view point I agree.... From a professional sports club performance view point I disagree...
The playing group need a new regime... What if Webster recommends a change... Will he be supported by the club?

The one thing that you can say about the current incumbents are that they do appear to stay out of the playing side of the business. I bet Salford sometimes wished their chairman would follow the same philosophy.
I suppose time will tell if Webster is his own man or is tainted too much for some on here with his long association with Agar.

| Happy with that! There's always questions which come out of every interview. I would welcome a strong James Webster to clarify exactly what he wants with assertion and belief. Hopefully this falls within the financial parameters the club has to offer.
Financial security and top 12 are the only aims we need to stick to this year. Next year is different. But this year Is all about survival and financial security.

| A good interview from an honest Chairman I believe.
I totally agree that Super League survival is our main goal for this year. Financial security would be a great novelty and should put us in a stronger position for next year with player recruitment. Without the former, the latter is more difficult, with out the latter, the former will be more difficult next year!
I would only question, if this was raised last week, would an immediate change have sparked the team into a better performance against the Bulls, and we'd now be talking about the Webster effect? we'll never know, but a change in coach often does result in a change of fortune. we'd then be looking down at Salford below us in the table.
I'm also intrigued in that a true resignation would presumably mean less of a payout in contract negotiations. Whilst Webster may get a rise, there should be funds freed up by Agars departure?

| Agar is a good man and well liked throughout the game, it was though time for a change and it was best for both parties to go their seperate ways. But if Agar hadn't had walked MC would have never sacked him and that is an area he needs to look at in future. Close friendships cannot be allowed to cloud his professional judgement. A good working relationship is the best moving forward and leave it at that. If i'd have been MC though i'd have steered away from making the comment about an outside coach would have cost the club more to bring in. It really makes it sound like Webster got the job as he was the cheapest option. That may or may not be true but it's another stick to beat them both with if it doesn't pan out well.

What about Try Scorers wage as Webster's assistant? Where's that tidy sum gonna come from?

| I nearly had my tissues out shadding a tear. Agar is not a messiah apart from the first year he built 2 very good squads unfortunatly he didnt have the ability to get the best out of them.
