| after watching the bulls today against catalans,i admire francis cummins as a coach, with all he as had to put up with, and having to fit players in just to make a starting line up,i know we have had it tough, but it shows the difference in coaching, the bulls were well beaten today but the players never gave in and after the first 15 mins settled down and played reasonably well, there players ,on paper, dont match up to ours but I cant see us beating them, they play more as a team, and that game is a must win for us

I thought they just got gradually dismantled by Les Cats.
The Bulls fans didn't think much to the performance but I thought, as you say, with all the upheaval, they performed reasonably well.

| What I like is that Cummins isn't afraid to publicly criticize his players, he singled out one player amongst many, which is something our coach is afraid to do.

Interesting views on here. One of the things our fans have criticised FC for is his defending of players, particularly after the hammering by Wigan.

I'm sure RA thought some Bulls players were sheet as well.

Seriously? You prefer a coach who publically slags off his team rather than take the hit himself and talk to the team privately?
My view is exactly the opposite.
Agar isn't very good at the tv stuff but the last thing you need when you are trying to build a team is alienate the players.
If my boss did that to me I'd soon be moving on.

Agree. Being a tough coach doesn't involve slagging players individually. To suggest that's a way forward is lunacy IMO

| Just read their thread on FC. They like him less than some on here like Agar.

| For me the "arm around the back" approach has failed too many times. We need a disciplinarian who is not afraid of giving the players some hard truths, like Wane or Paul Anderson. And Poptart Agar neither publicly criticises the players nor takes the hit himself, he just waffles.

Did see the game but not the interview. I'd guess Gaskill took some stick as he had a stinker.

By 'taking the hit' I meant that by not pointing at someone else he takes all the criticism.
I agree he isn't the best on tv interview.
Of course I don't know what he is like with players directly.
I get the feeling he and Webster have a similar style.
I agree they need a hell raiser. Even Kirmond as Captain seems to be softly spoken.
When Sts were getting beaten at Magic Wilkin gave them such a roasting you could hear him over the crowd noise. I haven't seen him like that before.
The game was nearly out of reach but all the players responded. Until Monaghan broke away they looked like they started to take control.
A leader like that is valuable. We don't have one in back room or on the field.
The only one I've seen barking orders is Mathers and I don't think he'll get the response given his own cuddly toy aggression in defence.

| Its amazing.
Bulls get thrashed and are ,disregarding the points deduction, on less points than us, yet people see Cummins as a better coach than RA.
Re. playing roster they have had no more disruption than us, and perhaps even less, as the big criticism of them by many is that they have made little effort to make their better players available to help ease financial problems.

Disagree totally.
The difference is that we're not bothered how bad The Bulls are, so it matters little what Cummins says.
If we were on the back of that defeat, I don't think anyone would sympathise with our coach.
The Bulls were not interested enough and not good enough to compete with Catalan on their own patch.
46 4 is a hammering and the Bulls got blown away in a game where they may have expected a much closer result.
I think that when we pay them (The Bulls) next Sunday, it will be a close game between 2 poor teams but, if both play to their potential, Wakefield will win.
Despite our closeness in the league, I believe that we have more quality in our squad.
