Think Poore off the books will have been a massive financial burden lifted and maybe led to this development? Seven players though? It's a great lift for us all but hope there is some quality in those signings...

See I told you last week you had players about to sign when things fell into place although I said 6 so the powers that be have obviously attracted another name to the party.

You've lost some top players but you've still got the bones of a decent 17 at the club as we speak.

What do you think would be a fee to good to turn down for Kirmond?

I thinks its time to put a bit of credit mc way,although its been a painfull process seeing our best players sold off,i think we have seen a bit of skillfull costcutting,and hopefully made a sound platform to build on.also coming on here and quashing damaging rumours.probably saved the club.

Yep. MC said we would only let him go for a ridiculous offer, not a very good offer. £300k is just that. We don't need to sell any more (I think we will though).

I heard the interview and yes I am glad he confirmed that no more players need to be sold. I hope that whoever are advising on new players know what they are looking for but we will see. I don't think it will impact greatly on season ticket sales but at least he has drawn the line in the sand.
It is our most important season with relegation back on the agenda. I guess the biggest boost would be if the SL clubs reject the two down in favour of one.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Im sure that it isn't set it stone that we will indeed be going down to 12 teams?
I'm pretty sure they were meant to vote on what options they had but several clubs walked out..?

The walking out wasn't necessarily about the changes in the structure, more about SL clubs wanting power at the top table.

That said, a lot of clubs are in favour of going down to 12 purely because there isn't the depth of player or money (supposedly) for more.

In that sense, I'd say it's more than likely it will go down to 12 regardless of what pans out with Lenagan and the RFL.

Indeed, Lenagen et al are not overly concerned about the structure of SL, more the commercial ineptitude of the RFL.
