Wasn't he on sky when asked if he would play for England and he said a straight no, maybe he was fed up of waiting for sm to get in touch

Danny desperately wanted to play for England but SM decided he was surplus to requirements, unfortunately for SM Broughy was ripping it up including two masterful displays Vs Leeds which made it difficult to just drop him.

SM treated Broughy with no respect and tried to publicly humiliate him by leaving him out of a 30 man England training squad. ATEOTD Broughy had had enough and could see the writing on the wall so opted out and left for Scotland.

Some will dispute ths but it's true.

He started his international career playing for Scotland, so unless we re-introduce a GB team, the whole thing's a non-issue for me. He's now Scotland captain, and good luck to him/the "chilly jockos".

I would much prefer to watch a gb team too, but it baffles me how sm chooses to ignore danny brough and pick rangi chase that isn't even English to me he a kiwi and always will be regardless on his ability to me he shouldn't be allowed to put an English shirt on !!

This is exactly true, and it's really nice to hear it coming from non Giants fans, as some are saying we are biased when making these claims. McNamara also picked his team to play the exiles and told the players involved, again Broughy wasn't one of them even though by June he was ripping up most of Superleague. McNamara told him he wasn't in his plans as you stated, hence the reason after playing Saints on Monday and getting MOM he stated that he was going back to Scotland. Personally I just can't believe that somebody higher up hasn't pulled in McNamara to ask him what his problem is? The sooner we get a decent England coach the better, so long as they don't come after Baloo!!

Well done to broughy, without question the best english half back in SL for me and out of the three picked a worthy winner.
As ever when england are on TV i will have it on but pay little notice and won't bother actually going.
Bring back team GB and get shut of MacNamara.

Makes the Scotland team quite interesting though. They have a decent "spine" to the team. They are clearly not going to win it but I wouldn't want our progression to depend on beating them

Would be interesting if England played Scotland and Broughy ran rings round England.
