| Just a spot of recognition due I think. We are selling players for decent money, players other clubs had released/didn't want etc. and WT and RA have created value. Its saving our club. RA has been tasked with doing it all again, he's on his way to OZ to try and find the next Tim Smith? He's playing "Money Ball" again, we should thank him and hope he is up for it.
Yeah I'm fed up we are losing the heart and backbone of our playing staff, although I wish them well, its a short career, but The Trin will go on. Thanks Richard Agar

| Agreed. Agar has unearthed some quality players.
A few months back Adrian Lam was talking up some of the PNG lads to go well in the World Cup. Having Aiton with us may help attract these lads to the club and they'd be good value for money...if the quota allows us.

Who have we got on quota/non-fed now? How many spaces do we have?
Collis
Aiton
Poore
Tautai
I think Lauitiiti and Mellars are exempt so that leaves us only one place on the non-fed/quota list unless any of these 4 leave.

| What about home-grown? How many are you supposed to have?
Only ones that are currently in 1st team squad and are contracted beyond the end of this year as far as I'm aware are:
Trout
Annakin
Shulver
Walshaw (I think?)
Others in the squad (who I think are all OOC at the end of this year)
Wildie
Kay
Cowling

Which is why its all the more baffling why Trinity haven't successfully negotiated a new contract with the three OOC players. They have all shown potential, they fill up the club trained quota and they'll be cheaper then established pros.

| Looking at the 19's squad on the official website the only one that I think has played 1st team is Dan Maskill (in the Hemel cup game) so not too sure who if any of those can step up to fill those places.
(Actually not sure about James Healy too? has he played 1st team?)
On that basis if we don't re-sign some of those 3 OOC players we could be really struggling to fill that home-grown quota.

| Yep, thanks Richard Agar, you managed to get a bunch of talented players to underperform all season. If he is still in charge next year we can forget about being a SL club in 2015/16. Cant get good players to perform (and never has done either at Hull) so god help us with the squad that will be available next year. If he stays we are down.

He brought together a squad of players not wanted at other clubs in a really small time frame and got them into the top 8 against all the odds. This year hasn't been spectacular but with the lowest budget in SL we still finished 1 point off 9th place. He's generally good at recruiting so I'm quite excited to see how the squad shapes up.

| I don't think Agars the man for a relegation dogfight either.
But I'm happy for him to see what players he can turn up?
JK might need more than 6 games this time?

I'm pro-Agar, the games under him have been far more entertaining than under JK. We have lost the close games because of player error, if we made less errors we would have won more games and possibly made the eight. I bet you would have thought he was great then!

suppose a case in point is Ben Cockayne, tossed aside and then at Fev , gets a new lease of life with us and now earned us £30k, not a bad return

Doubt that we had the lowest budget. Furthermore if these were players that nobody wanted we seem to have paid them a hell of a lot of money.

My guess would be the mighty London broncos, but I am happy to be corrected, I did say that I doubted rather than I was certain, however, I am happy to be challenged about this. Could you bring the certainty to this subject that I so desperately seek?

Hard to believe but London spent the full cap. Salford and Bradford were probably lower with Hull KR, Widnes and Cas at a similar level.

| London were rumoured to be spending close to the full cap, especially in view of the higher salaries that are necessary down there (cost of living and all that)
Salford may well have been paying a lower cap at the start of the season but, I would think that we weren't far behind.
The mid season signings still remain a mystery.
WHY, if we were losing money, did we sign 2 new players (Tautai and Molloy).
Regardless of their respective ability and cost, why would a club do this ????

Also why hand out contract extensions which we clearly could not afford to honour unless we were running with a squad of 13

They actually spent over the cap as they get a 15% dispensation for being in "dat dare Lundun" to allow them to spend above the cap so that wages are effectively equal with those "oop norf" due to the cost of living

Its the contract extensions that may well get us out of this mess.
The contract extension for Danny Kirmond will be a god send if he does have to go, otherwise it would be a 50k job like Amor.
From what i can see/guess the transfer fees seem to be somewhere around the value of the remainder of the said players contract.
Out of contract or in some cases 1 year to run and they are worth zip to us

I suppose it depends on the salary of the player under contract as to whether it is a "good deal" - ie the contract of Mellars may be considered to be a liability rather than have value.
