| Contrary to popular belief Frank isn't being 'non selected', the fact of the matter is he can't be selected. Sillily the club accepted a deal with fev where he cannot be recalled unless its for the challenge cup. Fev lumped up a fair chunk of cash for this to be the case, they're basically paid a transfer fee for a loan player. Some wil say its good business by the club others might see it as a bad move in terms of having an experienced player no longer available for selection. Hope this puts to bed all the rumours of agar having some kind of problem with mariano. Bet the bloke must be fed up of people asking him why he won't play Frankie. I doubt he'd be able to come out and say the terms of the deal as I suspect they'll be kept under wraps by both clubs but the truth is out there now!

| I saw him on Sunday and passed comment that I thought he would have been playing and he replied "so did I" but, obviously didn't go into any reasons etc.

| Unfortunately we've got the same problem with walshaw. They're paying 100% of his wages under the condition that we don't recall him. They were extremely reluctant to let him play v Wigan last week. The way he played he deserves to keep his spot but I'm afraid agar won't have any choice in the matter.

| I wonder why he featured in the match day squad last week then.
The fact he went is the strange one and its obviously a deal Agar was happy with otherwise I'm sure he would've vetoed it. Its just a shame Walshaw isn't able to take advantage of this opening in the squad due to a similar loan deal there he can not be recalled.

| I can't see agar been happy with the deal at all but money is tight so I think he will have been over ruled. Fev won't budge on Frankie and if they've paid up a lump sum in advance to secure the deal then why should they.

I could understand that if the club hadn't just recruited a player from the otherside of the world. I still feel its a call Agar could have made if he insisted on it.
As for Fev, I don't blame them either, its Trinity who have screwed up in trying to save money, on both counts.

| It still comes down to us (whoever "US" is) not wanting to keep Frankie. Or at least when you add up the cash he was bottom of the list to keep.
Putting him out with Fev saves money rather than paying for a player who is not playing. Same with Walshaw.
The fact that form sometimes means it would have been handy to have them on stand by is just unfortunate.
I would imagine Walshaw will be back next year and may well be loaned out again. I can't see Mariano comiong back. This puts him in the shop window if you ask me.

| Frankie needed to be playing somewhere to keep his fitness levels up. Agar has been trying to pull him back for the past 3 weeks but as I said fev won't budge. I'm sure Frankie would prefer to be playing in super league but its out of both his and Agars hands due to the constraints of the deal brokered between the two clubs. Just shows to me that the club probably isn't being run as well as some of us thought it might have been. Agar already has a difficult job with the lowest budget in the league and these deals just make it harder.

Doesn't show that at all to me.
Shows that a deal was done and we got the best money deal we could, while taking a risk on furture injuries. It's not liek we haven't been able to cover him.

Well its funny you should mention that, thats all i hear from friends and associates on an almost daily basis.
Back to Frankie/Walshaw, i understand the reasons of saving money but i don't understand why you would give that saving to Fozzard.
I understand a major part of is job will be season pass for next year, if we suffer due to palming players off with no recall and finish near the bottom how will that help sell tickets.
I want the best team on the pitch at Wakey not at PO road.

| If we loaned out Mariano and Walshaw in order to pay Fozzard's wages, surely it must be a time for a change of CEO?

Rubbish. Fozzard pulls in a furtune with his modelling contracts, and word is he's a genius at wrangling over the odds from would-be sponsors by using his trademark forearm 'protection' on them when negotiating.

| I still cannot understand the logic in loaning out Walshaw and Mariano under such inflexible terms and bringing in Molloy who does not appear to be as effective.
Could do with Big Frankie back now Tautai is injured.

Precisely. We had a player who proved his worth last year in Mariano and, if his performance against Wigan is anything to go by, a home grown player that we must have spent considerable money and time in, who looks SL material through and through, already at the club. I am mystified why we let them go to waste cash on the likes of Molloy and Lyne, whilst letting those 2 go on such restrictive terms. Bad management to me

| No matter what you think of Mariano, Molloy's skills are becoming clear.
He has missed no tackles and made no errors and given away no penalties.
If he keeps that up he will start to be a favourite.

Anyone disagree.

If he's cutting corners in training it's irrelevant, we need to maintain standards or this behaviour could spread and then we would be in trouble - we don't have the technical skills in the squad to allow players not to give 100%

Im not so sure on Agar.... for me, the obvious explanation here is that money is tight so we've offloaded Walshaw and Mariano, for which we're getting their wages paid, which in turn free'd up money to bring Taulima Tautai in immediately as a pose to waiting until the end of the season. It suggests to me that we've seen great value in TT and we've worked a deal accordingly.....and if we had to 'plead' with Fev to let Walshaw play, this was simply because we were injury ravaged last week.
I really dont see what all the fuss is about.

| The whole thing with Mariano as really upset me ! He is clearly a talented player more talent than Trout, Mellars and Molloy. Walshaw has potential and did very well against Wigan. We have messed around with Trout, Mellars and Molloy when we should have put our arm around Mariano talked to him man to man give him some TLC. Monitor him in the first team and not mess around with the others apart from Walshaw as I like him. The situation with MAriano stinks sounds like a cock up with the paperwork. Instead of school-ing him trying to improve his attitude we have just laid waste unfortunatly. 7 match win streak with this guy in the side. Losses to KR, Cas etc when we have messed around.

Amazing as this may sound, we have lost games with him playing as well.
I still felt he went missing in the "big 7 "games at times.
He stikes me as being like the "big lad" in the school team.
He runs through gaps when they are there and looks (and is) great doing it, but when you step up a level you need someone with all round sklills. He has holes in his all round skills he needs to fix.

| I've said before for me Mariano had the perfect chance to lay down a marker in the cup game against Hemel and failed to take it.
Yes, he scored a great try, barging through their fullback and going over but then he spent 20 minutes blowing out of his a$$.
Bearing in mind the opposition he should have been an absolute standout but was overshadowed for me by the youngsters who came in eg Shulver.
We are told that the reason he got dropped in the first place was due to "cutting corners", his lack of fitness in that game when given the perfect chance to shine would suggest to me that that statement may not be far off the mark.
I'm not saying he's not talented but if you believed what NGB4C thinks then you'd think he was an NRL standard 2nd rower - to me I'm afraid he's not.
Having said all of that I'd have him back if his attitude was right.
