Oh no I really hope this is not true just as Wakefield are growing as a team and club but I fear it may be according to a french newspaper L'Independent' report below:-

I wonder if it's Kear, and the reporter has heard the words Wakefield and Hull and made the wrong connection.

Nick Rigg from the Wakefield Express tweeted the same about half an hour ago. I sincerely hope this is a part time role and agar isnt leaving us.

Im with slugger on this one its John Kear he was at Paris at one bit if you remember and his deal with Batley is if anything comes up he can go and if they want rid its no problem.

I suppose if other people are selecting the squad (and let's face it, it's Catalan plus the best of the rest), then I suppose what is there to do? Doesn't the French domestic season end in around April?

Can't see how it would impact on his time too much, and I presume it's really about getting them through the World Cup. Might help him grow as a coach too.

What bothers me more is the fact that he applied last year for Trent Robinson's job, if that part is true.

But they also said part time just for World Cup.

Great that he's being recognised but Wakefield must be the priority.

When the rumours about Agar coming to Wakefield started I wasnt happy at all. I have been a doubter for much of the time ever since although I know a guy who coached and played with him who has always sung Agars praises. However on seeing this thread I admit to a pang of shock and hope that he doesnt leave us. Hope its just part time and if it is, then thats fantastic for him and will definitely benefit us.

I'm surprised they've not given it to the bloke who's now coaching Catalan.

Bonus I guess is Agar will be able to get a good look at any promising French players.

Wonder if the French refused to pay Wakefield any compensation for taking our coach mid-contract. Bailing out on the club after such a relatively successfull season doesn't come across well.

No more so than when Agar was given the Trinity job. Fans generally don't get a say.

I dont see how it would affect Wakefield as a team/club so I dont have a problem. I believe his main concentration will be Wakefield and more France when near the World Cup games come around he will then focus on France and their players.

I'm pleased for Agar personally, that he has been recognised, and imho that reflects on the club as well.
I'm assuming it won't distract from his day job as it will be after season end and he willbe able to get close to the French and other teams to be able to assess new signings for next season as a bonus.....only time will tell.

What does surprise me is that on the WTW Facebook page there are still a couple who think we should never have got involved with Agar and that he isn't doing a good job.
Is this a feeling held on here? I thought everybody was pretty much happy with him now, whether it started out that way or not?
