Nice idea yet I do wonder on the timing. Why roll it out when 2 of the teams will be eliminated the week before? If they are going to promote the game with "extraordinary" individuals then the idea is to attract people to see these people play.

I like the concept and a new marketing idea, I just think the timing is maybe a week too late.

Indeed, ideally it should been published last Monday, or at the very latest tomorrow.

Is the cartoon player suposed to look like Tim Smith? If it is I suspect that they got it wrong.

If this is the start of the RFL working with clubs to market themselves, the game and crucially, the individuals who play it, more creatively, then I'm all for it; minor gripes about timing and artwork seem a bit churlish.

Power to their elbows - I hope it has a sufficiently positive impact that more of this type of thing is done next year.

I love it, I think the artwork's great and any exposure for the club is also a good thing!



I used to like the Wildcat posters they gave out before the games a few seasons back too!

I think this could be a wonderful marketing scheme from the RFL. I do agree that it should have gone live last week once the league games were finished. It would have given all the playoff teams a week of using this branding and promoting!

I'm interested to see where the website goes when it's live on Monday, I would hope that there will be elements of gamification and the ability to interact with these 'superheros'. If they create a feature rich and fully interactive site then they could well be onto a winner.

I'd be backing this up with twitter accounts, facebook profiles and as much exposure as possible.

It's great to see Wakefield represented in this, normally we have to sit by the side and watch other teams benefit from this type of RFL advertising but now we get the chance to shine.

Although for the record, I do like the video!

James Elston has confirmed on Twitter that it was put together before our amazing run started, hence Tim Smith is not included.

Looks great though - if it could go viral, these are the people that will grab attention for our game.

That makes sense, and explains why Dobson is in the video as well. Can't say fairer than that!
