Strange career move

Yeah bit of a strange one. Hope we can get another decent coach to fill his boots.

Many thanks to Tony Drury who has done a great job in his time with us. He has highlighted and developed many good young players for us, we are now seeing the fruits of his work as players push into the first team and do very well in the 20`s. He had to compete against clubs who just throw money at Juniors, his under 18 championship winning side was put together for a reported £ 18,000.00 and they beat everyone ( remember some clubs would have been spending £ 100,000 on their squad ). Together with Richard Hampshire and John Hollroyd they scouted players who no one else wanted and coached them into the best side in the league. Tony efforts were rewarded by England who gave him a coaching position with the National side. Walshaw, Trout, Wildie, Speirs , Anakin , Cowling, etc etc etc represent our best crop of players to come through the system since the Westwood, Ellis, March x2 , Mason side. Much of the clubs recent success at under 18`s, 20`s `and 9 a side is in no small way part of Tony Drurys legacy. Good luck to Tony in his new job and thanks for all your work at Trinity. He will be a tough act to follow. I have very much enjoyed watching his sides play.

I hope so, that would be the obvious choice for me! Done well at the club already so might be worth a shot

Drury leaving may have something to do with Beans. Broadbent is acting head coach until the end of the season at the Rams. Wonder why the Trinity news release did not specify specifically which role Drury will take.

Either way, many thanks to Tony Drury who has provided us with a well drilled set of youngsters stepping up to the first team.

don't know how to read into this whether he needed the change or its shuffle of coaching staff but either way we should be thankful for what he has managed to achieve with a low budget.

I'd like to pass my thanks on for the entertaining year we had when the 18s beat the lot and wish him all success

Not entirely surprised that he's leaving given the future plans for the junior competitions.

Maybe it's an indication that Dewsbury will be the feeder club for Wakefield.

Doncaster are our feeder club. Been forging strong links already with them
