It is with regret that we have had to cancel the Newmarket Celebration Event scheduled for 19th July.
In order to keep the price as low as possible we needed a substantial number of people to purchase tickets in order to pay the caterers and the entertainment. Unfortunately we have failed to sell the number of tickets required in order to hit our break even point. We had also intended a raffle and stand up/sit down bingo in order to raise funds for the Wildcats Community Trust but of course we will no longer be able to do this.
Anyone who has purchased tickets will be given a full refund and we will provide details of how to obtain the refund shortly. If anyone wishes to contact us regarding a refund please e-mail us at wtsupporterstrust@aol.com

yes Trojan and then you would have said more appropriate when the grounds complete, the more appropriate after first win, then when we win league!
shame that the fans don't get behind the few individuals who do alot of work for this club with no reward.
People like TRB have worked for years to get teh stadium so close and others just sit on their rears and do nothing.
sorry for rant but also sorry i won't be at a good but unsuported evening. shame on you stay aways!

Take your point but it wasn't intended to be premature, we know we only have a "mindful to approve" decision and a lot of work still needs to be done. It was to be a celebration of how far we had come from the collapse of the Thornes Park scheme, administration etc. and as TRB said was a celebration of what collectively and particularly SWAG had achieved over the years and how their persistance was paying off.
It was hoped to be an evening when people could have a bit of fun and at the same time contribute towards the Wildcats Community Trust and the good work they do in the local community. |

| I cannot fault the work done by individuals and swag and like all am very appreciative.
While I do think it was premature date wise I do think it's a great idea at some point. I have no doubt it will be a success and a great night when it does happen though.
Shame the required number didn't get met but at a later date I doubt that will be the case .
Hopefully full planning will be a faster process and the next step can be taken soon. As it starts to come together I may very well attend the celebration too. |

The only problem being that at a later date there may not be anybody who can be d to organize the event due to the increasing level of apathy shown by the supporters.

Again it is something that I would have been interested in, but weekday nights are tough for me - would have made more sense to arrange it for times they know that Rugby fans are free, ie Friday night at 8 or Saturday night at 6? Just a thought - but thanks for having a go at arranging.

We have informed the Club and hopefully the web site will be updated but its not the Trust's Web Site.

Think most people thought it was a curry & comedian night rather than a panel informing us of next steps etc, it's a shame but I've being celebrating for 3 weeks now just want to see the plan and get the bugger built |

Thanks for the feedback. We're trying to find out if its the night that's the problem, the curry people don't like or the fact that people do not feel interested in or the need for a Trust.
If its the latter then we can disband the Trust and find something else to do with our time. |

This Forum and the Facebook page said on more than one ocassion that there was a panel with Q & A's on the next stages in the process of achieving a new home. It could not have been clearer. |

All the audience with nights are well attended I think it's a mixture of holiday season everyone is skint and although it was a celebration evening there was no new news to be had which hasn't really captured the Trin fans imagination. We are Wakefield fans after all can be abit miserable we like facts not comedians, although that's been mixed up in the passed

A couple of pints in celebration information on the the next steps may have been better attended and no need to ticket it. I think have to pre purchase tickets and having a comedian put people off. The trust is a brilliant idea though how can you get membership? |

A total membership of a couple of hundred will have little or no impact, financially or otherwise. I was wondering whether or not to bother again, but now that Sandal Cat has announced the new low, low price for the coming year, it would be rude not to. I hope this offer persuades others to join too.

You're right we need more members and our aim with the £5 membership is not particularly to raise/increase fund but to get Membership up. The more members we have the stonger our voice.
The Trust was not set up to remove the previous regime or run the Club but to represent the Supporters of this Club so that they could have a say in how the Club is run by working with the Club.
If Supporters do not feel a desire to join the Trust or feel that there is a need for the Trust then that will be reflected in the Membership and will probably result in the disbanding of the Trust. If no one or insufficient numbers join the Trust it will be a worthless organisation and die.
The Supporters of the Club will ultimately decide the future of the Trust. |
