Once again our ruling body has srewed up!

Has anyone looked at the match timings? On the Sunday there are 4 matches at 2 hour intervals - spot on! On the Saturday there are 3 matches at 3 hour intervals!!!!!!

I for one will not be sat around anticipating the Warrington v Widnes slaughter, then another 1hr plus for the Humberside derby - admittedly a decent game usually!

IMO many folk just won't wait, and certainly many who are due for the later games will not come early for ours.

So, expect around 5,000 people in the stadium come 1pm on the Saturday - and some of them to leave afterwards - I am fairly confident I can be sat in front of the telly by the time the 3-eyed-fish are on!

Got a flyer through the post saying match day price was £30. So considering what you have just pointed out TRB I have just had a further moment of common sense and thrift and decided I will be watching the game on the telly.

If I go at all, it'll be on the beer train for our game; I would have watched whichever games were before and after ours but if there are hours between them, I shan't hang about.

I'd love to know the logic behind this - maybe they're trying to create 'dwell time' in the Etihad, to flog a load of pies and beer?

They can create as much dwell time as they want they are getting feckall from me.

I'm off on the saturday but the gaps are too much and its a good 20min walk to city centre so ill be watching wakey match.. going into manc then coming for 2nd half of wire game watch FC game.

Shocking times... makes getting train back very tight too...

I think it's going to be very poorly attended, over both days. Last I heard FC were leading the way with sales selling over 3.5k, 1500 ahead of the next best sales, which is very worrying.

It's only £15 with a Gold season ticket - so get your wallet out you tight rs!

The concept just does not work for me I have never been nor had the inclination sat in a big empty stadium.

I would watch Wakey v Cas in Manchester but only in a game such as a cup game or play off. The league game on the road is meaningless the powersthat be should be held to account. IMHO

If you're running a bus TRB can I cadje a lift please pal. Totally agree mate. Wire Widnes should be the first game, get that bore fest out of the way, a tight west yorkshire derby, then the hull match, everyone would be a winner, except for the poor widnes fans.

I love the Magic Weekend. Away, watching the rugby, has been a big highlight for me since the concept started. I just don't get the same excitement that going to Edinburgh or Cardiff generated. I'll only be going for the 1st day this year

A simple way to reduce games and protect player welfare would be to ditch this ridiculous concept. At least when it was held in Cardiff and Edinburgh you could argue it was opening new avenues of support for the game and was held in places people could make weekends of it meaning they would likely stay for the other matches, where as in Manchester I imagine most would just stay for their clubs game then go home.

I noticed during the Manchester derby last night the panel advertising at the side of the pitch was advertising this weekend. They were advertised within 5 minutes of the match starting then in the final few moments. I suspect this is prime viewing time for this match watched by millions nationally and more globally.

Considering the value of the Stobart deal, I suspect these two brief glimpses of promoting this weekend on tv have reached more eyes than 2/3 years on the back of a lorry.

That's Redhall's advertising budget blown for the next 10 years then.... don't expect to see any promotion for next year's World Cup, other than in League Express

I don't see the problem, I think the idea is a good one in terms of bringing the community together and welcome it being held in Manchester, much rather travel over there to watch a game than head to godforsaken Scotland or Wales!

I think you miss the point - people see the opportunity of travelling to Scotland or Wales as a weekend away albeit as a community. Manchester is just like a glorified away game for clubs and supporters and doesn't have that sense of a 'special weekend' anymore imho

Therefore i cant see Eastlands catching on, its too close and its not a special outing, although it looks a very nice stadium, thats not enough!!

Some people will stay over, those fans away from the heartlands and a few who fancy a night out, but how can you check into a hotel with a 1pm start? That's what occurred to me.

And don't forget the Hull fans from both clubs drinking on the way over on the train, and then all day, plus their volatile fixture at the end. Bet there'll be no trouble at all.
