| Wood was miles better last night speeded play up brought players onto the ball much better and looked a far better partnership with Smith. Woods kicking game was very good aswell. Once again I will question Agars interchanges .
Would you bring John on when we are losing to change things ? NO
Would you bring John on when we are winning ? NO
Why wasn't Ellis a interchange hooker with Aiton?

| I'd have Wood starting pretty equal with john on most aspects of the game apart from infield kicking where he has a massive advantage.
Don't know who i'd play at 6 though? Smith, John, Wildie ?

| On last nights performance, first half at least Wood must be given another go at starting SH he was taking the line on,passing good and has a good kicking game also seems quicker than John and his defence is also great never takes a backward step and took the Thug on a few times.

| Wood and Ellis MUST have more game time!
Also maybe get a couple of those passionate hard working prop forwards from Featherstone!

| Wood was constantly attacking the line and putting doubt into the Leeds defence, something John has not done and it stood out a mile.
Ellis (if fit) should have been on the bench, John was a waste of a sub.

Ellis is 100% fit, played for the u20s today.
They beat HKR 36-24 ( Ithink)

| Wood seems to play in a way that complements Smith's style more readily; Smith is supreme passer of the ball and Woody is more direct and takes the line on - I thought he was a genuine handful during the first half and caused Leeds major problems.
I definitely see potential in John though - just needs to get into the game more and be more consistent.

| Id start with John and Wood in the halves. I cant really see what Tim Smith brings to us apart from a reputation of been a good player for one season, a long time ago. Id rather see a young half back pairing thats got something to prove

I'm not saying he gets it right every time but when he's on song, he is an excellent passer of the ball.
I guess your view on it is dependent on your agenda; I'm not interested in bagging a player, so I don't focus solely on the things he gets wrong.

| I think Smith does a good job at 1st receiver controlling things. I think the problems start a bit wider. Wood and Wildie for me are better players than John from what i have seen. I hope John comes good but is he not on a 3 year contract? We need him to fire.

Wood is our best half on current form by some distance

| Looked a much sharper team with Wood in the starting 13. With regards to Smith; when his passing game is on form he's superb, when it's off he's bloody awful.

I would agree that's probably over-used; it becomes a bit predictable after the first half a dozen times or so.

I think he can, it seems he's going through the motions and letting himself down along with the paying fans.
He is a better player than the Smith we've seen so far but imo only he can change that.

Were you at Leeds - genuine question?
I saw a different guy to the one who played against London and Castleford - and that is the problem - he is 2 different people! One is highly motivated and wants to run the show and the other is disintrested. If someone could figure out a way to get him up for every game, we'd have a star on our books, but it really seems that he struggles to get motivated for the 'smaller' clubs, and we're no way good enough to be able to do that as we are one of those 'smaller' clubs!

Probably the most crazy thing I've ever posted but...
I'm not a Sykes fan but he's been around a while and has played S/O. Maybe and it's just a maybe a more mature player like him may be able to read Smith better and help keep him motivated?
I could be way of but I think Smith needs an older head than John. John not a bad lad but he's as lacking in experience as most of our team are. If not Sykes perhaps Collis or anyone with a decent brain and a bit of maturity - I'm usually against playing players out of position but we need Smith to fire so desperate measures.
Also considering Smith illness he is two different people and I'm not taking the mick - all the medication in the world won't take away all the demons. I admire his attempts to fight it and he can do way more than me and I'm OK so they tell me but deep down it must affect him. I'm really not trying to be insensitive but it really can't help the guy in a high pressure sport - or at least as a non expert I'd have thought not.
