He has done lots and lots of good for the game and keeps getting let down by the clubs (us, Bradford, Crusaders etc).

It seems that the blunder with Odsal was more about communication than execution; the initial secret loan to Bradford should have been disclosed and only done with the consent of other SL chairmen. Recouping the loan by buying the lease for the market vaulue minus the value of the loan was probably a pretty shrewd decision, ignoring the obvious moral issues of bailing out one club whilst letting others go to the wall.

On balance, his depature could be an opportunity to build; the key will be who gets the job - if it reverts back to another RL type, who can talk about the game but has no business acumen or strategic leadership skills, then we'll go backwards. Equally, if Big Nige get its, I'd see that as a pretty dismal statement of intent.
