Quote ="CORONET KING"They lost 24-20,(I think). Hull scored a try with the last play of the game to seal victory)
Played in awful conditions they scored they scored four tries. Led 14-10 at half time and could of won it themselves if the winger, Sam Parkin I think, had held a pass from a superb Andy Ellis break just five minutes before time.
The whole team can be very proud of the display.
Particularly outstanding was Andy Ellis, who controlled the game when he was on and Adam Gledhill & Tom Lilycrop who never stopped running at the Hull defence.
Kay & Wildie also had good games in the halves.
Thoroughly enjoyed the game despite ending up soaked to the skin!'"
Have to agree, I attended the game and also thought that the front row of Gledhill, Ellis and Lillycrop were good, along with other good performances from Hardcastle in centre, Grayston at fullback and another full blooded effort from Slater who started at loose then went into second row and back to loose, it was also good to see Chris Annakin back out on the park.
Whilst I feel our effort was second to none in atrocious conditions, I feel we could have won this one, we, IMO needed more attacking options as at times we were one dimensional with no second phase coming through, this making it easy to defend against, the more faces hitting the line running different angles, the more questions you ask of the defence, and why was nearly 80% plus of our attack going down our left, again making it easy for the defence.
I believe there is a lot of talent and energy in this side and once they start to connect and combine they are going to pull up some good results. I also enjoyed the game, but not the weather
