How strange is this appointment?
Steve Kittrick (first team manager of Blue Square North promotion contenders Guiseley AFC) has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Wakey.

Why do you think its strange DB1?

Why strange, he's a lifelong fan I believe and has a few quid to spare.

Fans were told about this appointment 2 weeks ago at a fans forum meeting, not strange appointment at all, just further investment in the club from people that can see advantages from financially supporting a club in such an advantageous position in the district

The board at the Bulls were a minority shareholding where as that is not the case at Wakefield.

id like to hope that steves appointment would help me receive inside information from within the corridors of power at belle vue as he is my cousin, but the fact we have not spoken for 30 years probably means ill just have to be content with the rumour mill for another quarter of a century!!!

Which wouldn't make it strange - it would actually mean it makes even more sense; perhaps The Predator knows something we don't about the LDF/PI?

Even if there is no link - he's a successful Wakefield businessman and a lifelong fan of the club; a great move by Mr Glover in my view - I can't see a downside.

I can see what he means, I think he meant "random" rather than strange. If you didn't know who Kittrick was, then I can imagine a football manager joining the board of a RL club looking a bit out of the ordinary.

As others have said, always good to get local, wealthy backers in behind the scenes - let's just hope we don't spend his money before he gives us it

I was at BV today and his men were all over the place doing improvement work - I think his contribution goes beyond a simple cash injection.

Oh yeah, he doesn't strike me as one of those who simply turn up with the cash so they can tell all their mates at the golf club he's a board member, type.

Looks a good appointment, successful businessman, local and obviously well into his sport - definitely a good figure to have around the club.
