hope you dont mind me starting a new thread for the junior rugby section its something we have done for a few years now.

not long now folks until we kick off for the summer season,im sure all our respective teams have been working hard over the last month "well until the snow came" anyway.

i understand that quite a few teams from the pennine leagues will be joining yorkshire juniors and quite a few different ideas are going to be introduced including end of season play offs alas super league which imo is a good idea not so good if you dont make the top 8 has your season will be cut short.groups of 10-12 with league games completed by the end of july with play offs starting in sept,also four free weeks in which you can play games against humberside clubs which im sure will delight basil fawlty.all good stuff but some things never change and with less than a month before the big ko still no idea of who or where anyone will be playing.

p.s lets cut out all the crap this time and keep it positive.

I think my lads team(Greetland) at u12s is in the yorkshire junior league,originally was going to be in west riding(folded??).Looking forward to season getting under way,should be a step up in quality to what theyve been used to.

i wasnt at the meeting on mon night but i believe it to be the case that the west riding league has indeed joined the yorkshire juniors,how they work out who goes in which group i dont know but they did say that if some teams are struggling they will be moved groups to suit during the season and vice versa with teams that are winning easy week in week out.

really looking forward to this year, i'm coaching Heworth and my 2 eldest lads are in my team this season, hope they realise they're not in for an easy ride

Looking at the West riding site it seems they have folded a few age groups so a few teams to come into the YJL. Is anyone else having difficulty getting onto the YJL site tried on a couple of browsers an different machines and still says page not found ?
This cold weathers playing havoc with Crigg u12 training sessions at the moment and we are supposed to be playing the postponed Wakefield cup semi on the 26th welcome to summer rugby!

yorkshire juniors site has been down for about a week now im not too sure whats happening with it.

i think most sides are been disrupted by the weather,we have missed both this weeks sessions and had to call off our friendly game with oulton on sat.its also been nice to have nearly all our players back fit after a horrrendous run of injuries in the last winter season.

been told last night that they hope to have the website up this weekend

our season starts 4th march but we are playing in the Barla Nationals next sunday home draw against Widnes St Maries

Dad coaching team with 2 of his own kids included? It'll end in tears ah tell thee!

Apparently the YJARL site is administered by an American company who are having problems.

Weather is causing issues, my 12s were due to play over in Wigan this weekend but cancelled, the boys are gutted but it will be off set a bit by them walking out with the Rhinos at the DW on Saturday night.

Site back up now though not updated.

its not on yjuniors yet its gone out to club officials who have until friday to lodge appeals on the leagues they have been put in.

Big challenge for my lads and a great achievement to come from group 4 less than 2 seasons ago.

im sure it wont be too long before you find your feet.

can only think off 1 club who may feel upset no being in the top tier of the 12s but not having any contact with them for a while maybe its there choice. i think it will be great to have cross and rangers back up

another season of winding up the crigg lot wearing my stanley when young mutts plays and winding the stanley parents up when my youngest plays for Stanley wearing my crigg cap .


to be fair it would be nice if crigg had more age groups around IIRC the 8s&9s are merged and no 10s,11s,or13s.
so if your young uns need a club or you interested in coaching get in touch with the club.

i know a few who would play 10s but no coach is in place and of course no players ... no coach although backroom is virtually full so watch this space.


think its about time as the o.p. suggests that one of the finest threads on the entire board is not disrupted by tit for tat . its getting embarrassing the kids perform so well and let me tell you this the standard of rugby in the 10s is now rising so get ready.
