The RFL have announced their new hash-tagging system for the new season (if you haven't already seen).

Our game tomorrow is #SLWidWak with the other matches being in a very similar fashion (#SLSalCas). I know a lot of people use just #rugbyleague which is a bit broad IMO, is there a hashtag for Wakey BTW? #WildcatsRL?

P.S I can almost see the Twitter-Sceptics shaking their heads.

I think the club should add a hashtag to their articles. I've seen #2012yearofthewildcats on AG and JE tweets, but thought it was a bit too long and a novelty more than anything else?

tried twitter. didn't like it. to much white noise amid some snippets of decent content. i also fear it's an accident waiting to happen from a pr perspective the next time a player does something daft.

Personally I like it. It was fantastic getting the latest from the PI from AG and JE. There's some really funny stuff on there as well, try @sirrichardagar he's hilarious. Also as some one who loves music and comedy it's a good way of getting the heads up on tours, new releases etc. Oh, and it's very easy to get rid of any unwanted followers.

I use Twitter for business purposes and there's no denying it's value in that respect.

I agree with fff about the pr risk and I've been very vocal about that in the past - I have to say though having been given assurances by RA when he first arrived that he'd issued all the players with a code of conduct that included their behaviour on social networking sites, I have yet to see a WTW player say anything that could be considered inappropriate.

So far, so good.

It very nearly happened this week, not from a player but from a club. It was quickly hushed up though.

Whoever runs the official Salford twitter account was watching the Everton game and didn't realised that they weren't on their own personal twitter. When the guy handcuffed himself to the posts he tweeted something like 'ha typical scouse tw*t,' only to quickly remove it after a brief outrage.

The funniest thing was Salford RL were on Granada TV about twitter usage and they'd had some guy come in and talk to them about the dangers of it.

there is some good banter between the players, and i will add that i have been impressed with richard mathers and his commitment to training, as he always doing extra training above what the other are.

In fact the players have been encouraged to talk to the fans, if anything will bring the club together it's that IMHO
