| Wigan haven't finalised any rule changes for next season yet; when they have, they'll let the RFL know.

I heard the stumbling block is they can't agree with Leeds on how far forward, a forward pass can be.

| We could adopt the Aussie rules, allowing deliberate strikes to the head.
This would also suit certain prop forwards from Leeds !!
The original question was a serious one, are there any other significant changes ?

That's possibly good news for our slightly lightweight but more nimble props. It means you'll have to have a pretty good line up to afford a 2x10 minute blockbuster.

| Personally think they should get rid of the 'on report' option. It's a total cop out for the referee. It's make it seem like they're taking action when in reality they're just escaping making a decision. A board can look through the games and then decide in anything requires bringing to disciplinary action.

| I agree about "on report".
Seems a complete waste of time bearing in mind that all matches are reviewed anyway.

I agree with that too a degree it is a cop out. The problem of how to deal with incidents on the pitch is down to interpretation. As we all know, not all matches (except Catalan at home) have the benefit of a video referee, so in essence it becomes an on the spot decision again. I don't believe with the exception of Mr Ganson, we have any referees strong enough to make that decision. I personally feel that if an incident is put on report than it should be accompanied by an automatic sin-bin. Although this is may still be seen as a cop out it provides middle ground and then means the referee can take more action and not run the risk of criticism for sending a player off when it's not completely necessary. By that I mean how many times have we seen players go to tackle another player and their arm hit the ball first and then the head or incidents like the actions of Remy Casty a couple of seasons ago at Belle Vue, when Richard Moore (I think it was) tapped him in the face not hard enough to wipe the sweat off his brow, but Casty went down like he was double teamed by the Klitschko brothers.
