Ganson did actually make what could have been a decent contest dreadful. These guys just think they own the game and he made a total mess of this one tonight. We malign Union with all their stoppages but this tonight was worse.Frustrated the hell out of me and I was only watching on the box.

I thought the penalties given were a fair reflection of the infringements that were taking place, rather than Ganson showboating; in the first few minutes, it was clear that Shudds gameplan was to hold on as long as possible in the tackle, probably as a response to the way that Wire annihilated Wigan last week with quick ptb's.

No complaints here - I wish all ref's were as decisive when faced with that tactic; it might make those coaches who insist on pushing the envelope think again.

Just checked, and I think it depends on whether Leeds beat Hull FC. If Leeds win, that would make them the highest placed winner of the "bottom 4", so they should play the lowest placed loser of the top 4, i.e. Huddersfield. Not entirely sure, though.

From what I've just read, it isn't as straighforward as that. It depends on the relative league placings of the winners, as I understand it. Huddersfield v Catalans would be a cracking game, but I think Hull have to beat Leeds for that to happen. Could well be wrong, though.
