If he were to sign a new deal it would have to be a rolling contract. Best way to get the most out of Korky.

A bit harsh - but I have to agree. Like Hendo, he has been a great servant to the club - but I doubt either would get a contract at another SL team. Thanks, but now's the time to move on IMO.

i would give him a new contract. very solid for us and has always stood up to be counted. He is a prop and props aren,t superstars, and if we are looking for a prop to win us matches we will be looking for a long time.

to say he is living on the reputation from the hull game years ago does him a real dis-service imo. and to compare him to hendo an even bigger one.

Which bit? Has he not been a good servant or you think he would walk in to another SL team? I think both always go out and give 100% but the required skill levels aren't consistant enough. As a prop I'd expect MK to be able to break the line on a regular basis, have the physicality and technique to have a quick PTB and have an offload game. Am I being unrealistic in my expectations?

Correct - looked great on friday but how often does that happen!

If he could put in two out four performance like friday would give him a 1 year deal but there are no guarantees with him.

Odd that isn't it. 'Love the club' he may' but most on here do, and they don't deserve a new contract either. Never been consistent enough.

Its all down to being in the right frame of mind, he did not like being dropped for Hickey to play and thats why he played well on friday, if the right coach motivates him properly week in week out you would see a improved player. I think we all know is limitations but for me a "good korki" is worth keeping.

I feel he won't be offered a decent contract and he'll leave or retire.

I hear he has been lined up to fight The Big Show at The Royal Rumble.

there is not a prop in the world who would regularly break the line for wakefield .when only one player is running with with no dummy runners the opposition have a big smile to themselves, then get ready to smash the aforementioned runner(usually korki). as regards to hendo, yes he gives his all, but is significantly out of his depth at superleague level

Its that simple and its taught at age 6 upwards.

Needs a similar prop to batter opponents defences with him. Griffin and Korki were nowt special in 2004 but after 60 minutes of them smashing the line and forcing defenders to put them on their backs our opponents usually had nothing left and BJ could finally show his true skill. I think he's lost half a yard of pace with age though and that's crucial for a player using momentum.

actually half a yard of pace would make little or no difference to momentum calculations under newtons laws of physics.

Now that's Agar has been confirmed as coach, I'd hope the decisions regarding player contracts were his and not James Elston's.

That's the key to it and so many fans just don't get it.

Every player has a value to every club in the world just about. If Korky would play for Leeds for £100 a week they would have him on their books no problems. However other teams may be willing to pay 10 x that because they really need a player like him.

We only have so much cash and it's earmarked for a certain number of players. It's not so much that we don't think Korki is worth what he is on that is a coaches call. It's simply that we have made our choices on who we pay what and we simply have not got the cash to pay him what he wants.

It always strikes me as odd that when a young player leaves for more money he is furthering his career. When we don't offer a big enough contract or none at all we are short sighted and tight.

Trinity like most clubs put a cash and playing value on a player and that's it. We may not agree as fans but despite what some on here would have you believe they don't know the full facts. This is why I will always back a coaches/BOD signings, because at the end of the day they had to make a decision using the resources available. It's not easy unless your Hudds and your benefactor has very deep pockets indeed.

The issue regarding young players being given a chance is a different problem.

I don't. There should always be an input from the BOD - that is what they are there for. It should be in my opinion that the Coach says who he wants not the BOD - in turn the BOD takes a look and says yes or no or at least asks why.

It has to be the Coaches decision in terms of talent but others need to vet his decisions.

Give him a year at least he keeps himself trim unlike Hickey who cant be bothered .
