Forgetting Agar for a minute.....


I see the C@s plonkers on the other forum seem to be gloating about some 'document' regarding funding which they think has some effect on Trinity. They seem to be suggesting its been posted on another forum. I've checked the other one where all the scumbags gather to to peddle hate on. It might just be some desperate attempt at clinging onto straws after their lack of signings/progress/losing young prospects etc and some sick attempt an one-upmanship.

Anybody know anything?

yes I have noticed that they have been teasing us a little with some subtle hints that they have a document that will really miff us. I await with interest

Its the supporting statement from february 2010 that was submitted with the planning application.

Doubt it's anything to do with us. Probably more to do with their own funding. Good luck to them. If we get Newmarket, we won't get booted out. If we don't, we might, depending on how we are doing on the field. What Cas do won't affect us.

What, their application, or ours? If correct, hardly new or unknown. Are they still celebrating the fourth terrestrial TV channel over there?

What with this and getting an etch a sketch this Xmas their going to be in meltdown.

Our application. They are finding amusement in how we plan to fund it, they don't seem to realise that its 18 months ago and things have moved on quite a way. If I were them i'd worry about their own application which from what I hear has about the same chance of succeeding as Richard Wrights demand to win superleague in the next three years.

The document (of the part they quoted) only states what we already know.
The trust has nowhere near the level of funding needed to build the stadium- hence the need to cross subsidise the total development cost with unit's on the development & the sale/development of council owned land.
- This was the whole point of the development-bringing different sectors together to fund the build costs of a community facility that benefits the whole community. Each of the parties involved (Trust, Council,York court & the Wakefield public) all get something they desire out of the development.

I have no doubts the land at Alverthorpe will have no problems being developed/sold- why would the council do anything but push this through asap?

Yorkcourt HAVE to build the stadium first, it's part of the section 106. Do you think they'll be sitting round on their thumbs until we get the nod from the PI, or do you think they'll already be closing deals for the units so when we get the nod they can get those deals signed off and begin work on the stadium- then the industrial units.

I can imagine clients would have been involved from the very start, projects like this don't start by developers saying "Let's build this and see if anyone wants to buy one!". You build what is required (hence the industrial legislation requirements which form some of the core principles of the NM scheme) & build what the council want- if you on't fit either, your screwed. NM has both! FWIW Yorkcourt don't even have to sell half the plots to fund the stadium.

While I'm thinking about it: Was this very issue not brought up at the council meeting last October? From my memory a councillor brought this up during the 106 discussion and was assured that clients were in place for the required percentage of development needed.

It's an old document that been around ages and it's the following quotes in thats got them wetting themselves.

this whole thing is sad. first and foremost i'm a rugby league fan, a lifelong wakefield trinity fan. i don't want cas to fail, i want rugby league to be as big as possible and i include featherstone in that as well. i want wakefield to do better; much better. however if we can't, i wouldn't wish any ill will on cas or fev or any other team.

in an ideal world cas and fev would be in big new grounds in front of packed houses, coming in as runners up to us in all competitions.

Head says that the only way to secure the future of RL in the WMDC is to centralise all resources at the City club; in real terms, that means a merger with Cas, with Fev in the mix as a feeder club - a bit like the Aussie system. All of this based of course at NM, which as everyone *really * knows, is the only new stadium that will be built in the district in the forseeable future.

I don't like it, but it's the only way that both clubs will avoid limping along as perennial under-achievers.

As long as this centralised city club had the name "Wakefield Trinity" & played at NM/in Wakefield I'd be ok with it.

Fev I think have accepted their place as an NL side, all we have to do to bring about that side of the agreement is build ourselves and our new ground & wait. The NL structure as it is won't go on forever, Fev like most other clubs fly very close to the wind. The next time a financial crisis looms AG should be there, take them under our wing and formalise a structure of "funnelling" talent to the city club and back out to feeder clubs through the dual-reg system.

Cas on the other hand IMO would never accept this, they don't hold any loyalty to the city that enables them to function as any sort of society. Cas folk have never got into bed with the WMDC ideology, the resentment is born into them. Thus find the idea (however correct it maybe) of centralisation of RL talent sickening. They cling onto a pit town mentality, a town where the pits died years ago & the only thing that holds any sort of civic pride is their RL team. Losing that would be losing the last shred of their civic pride.
The only way I could ever see CT becoming part of a centralised programme would be if GH failed & NM was built, leaving them without a licence. Even then I doubt any sort of "working relationship" would be untenable because of the very nature of the relationship WT & CT fans have been nurtured in.

A better idea: Fev and Dewsbury.

I’ve no idea how it will pan out with Newmarket or Glasshoughton, but, I presume I’m with the vast majority. But dredging through old documents to alleviate the current problems they are incurring is cold comfort.

What never ceases to amaze me is that both sets of fans have their complete and utter tools, who insist on attacking each other with the same insults, which could be levied at either side if we're being honest. I really wish these people would sod off to a merged club and leave the rest of us alone to support our team rather than worrying about what your neighbour is up to

Can they even read in Cas yet?? Sure they've got their own funding issues to worry about
