I have been reading your 2012 squad thread at the top and noticed that Luke George appears to be OOC this year?

Is this still true? Has he signed for anyone else? (Sorry if i've missed the boat on this info)

I've watched him a couple of times this season and he seems to be a big lad with pace, who, under the right coach, could achieve something.

obviously you guys will watch him week in week out - is he not worth a new contract?

Worth a new contract in my view, however he is still very injury prone so that has to be taken into account. However, as the post above says, apparently he's signed for Huddersfield.

He's had his best season in a while but is a player who perennially fails to meet his full potential, due to being somewhat injury prone.

All the rumours are that he's off back to Shudds - we are their unnofficial feeder club, so it wouldn't be a big surprise.

i like luke george, he has the knack of scoring tries. he's far from the finished article, but if davey wants to pay him as if he is then fair play to him. hope he stays.

Plays a mean Widow Ty too.

Shame if he's off. Although I agree that he needs to be playing more often, he's certainly improved this season and could be a cracking centre/ winger in a couple more years.

If it is so, it might not be something we could do much about. I heard back when they signed Ferguson during the fire sale that they went in for Murphy then and that it was agreed he would stay for the season and then go.

Murphy is contracted for next season.

Luke has, as been said, had his best season this season, but is it a case ,again, of him either 1, playing for a new contract with us or 2, playing for a move.
How many times have we seen this happen, player in last year of his contract having a blinding season.

Would hardy say he's had a blinding season. He's been good with one or two strong games. But has played only half a season yet again.

If he signs great, if not oh well we can find someone else for the wing spot. With Murphy and Mellars we have our centres next year. He would be a good wingman if he stays fit but Is not irreplaceable.

He'll be a bloody handful with good ball players, decent service and dummy runners around him. Debatable but I think he's got more ability than Atkins but probably less desire. A good coach will sort him out.

Played a blinder against Huddersfield at BV - as well as his attacking flair he was a tackle machine! Wonder why..

And then once the deal has been secured, play like an absolute donkey the year after... ie:- Tadulala, Jeffries, Korkidas even Rooney fits into that category.

Not sure I agree - I can't see how a coach, good or otherwise, will make him more physically robust.

Talk on the Cas board that Hudds are signing Greg Eden. Would they need George as well if this is the case?

I am a fan of Luke and he has been quite good this year but yet again only had half a season while i would be disappointed to see him leave it could be for the best. Although it would be typical to see him play full seasons without injury if he did leave.

Has had his best season but injuries have again meant that he hasn't played enough games. I'd like to see him stay but on a 1 year contract 2 at the most.

He has a sore ankle and is trying to break the world record for most time off with a minor injury. This is when we need players to step up, not wimp out.

sort of agree, when he gets his head around it he can be very good, but, injuries apart, how demoralising is it for the younger players not to get decent runs in the team, some players aren't as strong mentally and young heads can go down easily.
