Sitting at the front section with no back rest used to be horrible. Drunk fans used to just head butt your back.
Why do people feel the need to get drunk on such good occasions?

I'll watch it hoping for a good game, but I don't expect to see one - I confidently expect Leeds to get smashed to bits.

Normally that would please me, but I don't care for Wigan either, so I couldn't give a hoot about the outcome.

got stuck with some hulls fans that was tanked up and nearly start a fight before kick off among their own, minutes silence for Toppo at the time too

I hate it Snowie and most people these days just aren't aware of kids and pensioners around them. It was bad enough Owls fans keeling over and hitting us but a United fan was killed outside the stadium :/
On a lighter note the last time we drove down to Wembley we saw Tango outside a pub somewhere in North London whilst stuck in traffic, we shouted "Tango Tango Tango" out of the people carrier's window and he ran over to the car and fully tango'd my uncle.

I'm going down on Thursday - stopping at the premier inn at the end of wembley way again . They set up a bar in the car park on the Saturday morning .. have a chat will fans from all over and then a gentle stroll up to the ground - where hopefully Leeds will get mullered !
Right weekend it is & although there's a few worst for wear , only saw a bit of trouble once ...last year ( Leeds fans in the Warrington end )

Another frustrating 80 minutes of waiting for Tomkins to get smashed.


He'll probably avoid all the attempts again and we'll have to wait for the Aussies to do a job on him at the end of the season.



1st time I've ever wanted Leeds to win a Wembley. Can't see anything beyond a big Wigan victory though.

Complete opposite myself. As much as I can see why people want to dislike him, he is class. The booing of him by petty idiots when playing for his country only confirmed my appreciation for his talents. Mentality of failure in my mind.

Add to that my experiences of Wigan fans over the years, where they have generally shown a little more grace when beating us than our 'big city'/'big club' rivals, I'll be hopeful of Wigan to win by a distance, playing far more attractive rugby to boot.

As for attending? When Wakey get there for me.

i don't understand why people don't like sam tompkins. he's a very exciting player.

he's not the messiah, and it's not his fault that sky fawn over him like he's some kind of historical great.

Every year since mid 70s.
Decided to go to the zoo with my mum in 77 and 78. In hindsight I think I got the better deal those years.

I think it's a combination of the circle-jerk that ensues amongst the Sky commentary team every time he touches the ball, together with his sometimes questionable attitude to the rules of the game; once he stops milking penalties by feigning injuries and holding tacklers down, I'm sure people will grow to love him, or at least grudgingly respect him.

But we have got to 3 of them in recent years.

I have not missed a challenge cup final in over 40 years the new Wembley is an excellent structure ,but does lack the buzz that the old Wembley gave you. You also miss the uncomfortable seats total lack of space and the flood of urine coming down the stairs.As for the game I hope Leeds at least make a game of it for a while before getting stuffed.But I will be there and will enjoy the day,come on Wigan.

On Tomkins, he plays the game to the edge of the rules and often beyond (as do Wigan at the moment) and that is why he is a target for all opposition fans. However, he does this because he wants to win at all costs and that is something you can never criticise too heavily.

I 'hate' the little git and will continue to 'hate' him other than when he has an England jersey on his back (in a 'real' game... I don't think he will get booed in the 4N) or ever pulls on a Leeds jersey.... the reason... he is just a bloody outstanding player of our game! I suspect I will be 'hating' him with a passion on Saturday!

It is OK BTW to 'hate' opposition players... that is part of being a fan and the reason the word 'hate' is in inverted commas because there is a difference to 'hating' and hating, if you get me?

I think Sky fawn over him because he is simply head and shoulders above anything we have seem from a British player in some time. Although I find it cringe worthy I don't mind it as our game needs "super stars" to promote itself. The more press attention he gets and the way he performs can only be good for the game.

He is a joy to watch, much in the same way Inglis and Thurston are even when they are ripping England to shreds. I guess it comes down to people who love the game regardless of the club, against people who support club first the game second.

I would class myself in the former category and regardless of who a player plays for I love to see the good ones at the top of their game even if they are destroying the team I support.

As a player he is backing up the hype in my opinion, I used to blush when Stevo and Eddie claimed Rads and Wellens were "the best in the word" etc but at the moment he has the world at his feet, and could be a massive part of the promoting the game, especially due to the fact he can string 2 words together in an interview.

In relation to the game I expect a very tough contest. Leeds will be pinning their season on Saturday and have disrupted Wigans rhythm when they have played them more than other teams seem able to. I expect a close contest for 60 mins and then I think Leeds emotion may not be enough and Wigan will pull away to win by 2 clear scores. Last thing our game needs is a one sided contest and an easy victory for either side.
