Another good signing for us, well done Mr Elston and Mr Glover. Ali's experiencewill be of great benefit to our younger players and hopefully he will be able to have a big impact on the field. Welcome Ali!!!!

All the very best to big Ali, you'd struggle to find a more popular player at Headingley. He's been the best overseas player at the club in my lifetime. Not now the force he once was, but if he has a good pre-season and comes back fit and healthy (he's really struggled with injuries for a while now) you've got a gem.

Not been negative, but if he stays fit then we will have a dynamic impact player on our hands to use as and when we need one. Hopefully his injury worries are in the past now.

What is our position regarding Quota players, presumably Hickey, Ali, & Southern are quota. Not sure about Tony, can we keep Morro and bring in a halfback from down under?

Contracted quota players for next year thus far are Hickey and Southern. Lauititi, Tony and Mellars are classed as federation trained. Tongia, should he impress, will be on the quota, leaving the club with two available spaces.

Mellars doesnt count at all being ex-crusaders,

Clubs are allowed a maximum of 5 imports made up of quota and non-federation players. Federation players are British and French players plus imports who come over here and spends at least 3 years in a clubs academy or those who have an EU passport or a KOLPAK status and were already contracted to a uk club prior to February 2008.
