General gist of the story is because one of the higher-ups at SD made disparaging remarks on Twitter after AFC Wimbledon were promoted to the Football League (and though wrong, you can understand why in the way that club was treated,) £1.2m of funding has been withdrawn. Hopefully this can be sorted out and a body which has helped saved over 50 football/rugby league clubs can be saved, especially after the assistance given to this club in recent months.

Social networking sites and idiots don't mix do they.

Seems harsh one mans views is threatening the whole existance SD. Whatever was said the guy has resigned, no need to punish the other employees nor the Trusts set up around the country.

Bad news, SD helped us no end in establishing our Trust and they will have our support.

Terrible news - and we must all hope that this is resolved quickly.

We wouldn't have got anywhere without these people, and Laura Harrison in particular, and it will be so much harder for our own ST if we do not have the umbrella organisation to work under.

Reading between the lines I think the FSIF are looking for the hierarchy of SD to make a hard hitting statement in condemnation of their former Chief Executives comments and are using the issue to send a strong message about responsibility to all the beneficiaries of the funding.

I think in the long term common sense will prevail and the FSIF will recognise the good work done by SD and the the vacuum that would be created if they were to fold and I expect them to eventually reinstate the funding.

I'm sure it will be the case, common sense will win the day.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. These are tough and very uncertain times but we're doing all we can to get the funding back or find new sources of income so hopefully we'll have some good news soon!
