| We have some news, which in some ways is quite good and some of you may have picked up on it in another thread.
The Planning Inspectorate have informed Wakefield MDC that the Public Inquiry will run to a 'Bespoke' timetable and as such we DON'T now need to return our Statements of Support by the 24th January and we will have a little more time. I have spoken directly with the Planning Inspectorate this morning and they have confirmed this to me.
The good news is that gives us more time to collect even more Statements of Support to add to the 3000 or so we already have! So please keep filling them out and asking others to do the same and keep dropping them off at the drop-off points!
Residents FOR Newmarket has now been formally registered by The Planning Inspectorate as an official interested group and therefore we will be included in on all correspondence in relation to the Public Inquiry. The other good news is that the bespoke timetable for the PI will be issued next week and we will now of course receive direct notification of such. As soon as we know the timetable I will post it here for everyone.
So PLEASE, PLEASE keep the Statements coming, and we will let you know the new cut-off date as soon as we know next week.
Finally, a massive thanks to everyone so far who has filled one out and collected many others from friends, relatives and colleagues
Newmarket remains the best and potential future of professional RL and sport in Wakefield along with unrivalled community sports facilities and new jobs.

| Mods, can we keep this here and we will keep bumping it up the page for a few days and then let it drift off the bottom when it runs it's natural course please?
I will add this post to the sticky as well, so we retain all information in one place.

| Along with last nights ST meeting, the RfN are another big positive and it just shows how much support is there for the club IF only we can get it right!

IA does this mean that there will be a set deadline for a final decision and is it feasible this could be sooner than the 12 months previously mooted on here?

Quite possibly, although I gather these time frames are guidelines not deadlines, but I understand that they will set dates for the Public Hearings in this letter. Fingers crossed!
As soon as I get the letter I will post it up on here.
As for this being public record then yes, the letter will go on to the Wakefield planning portal as well.

| Now for more good news! You guys are amazing!
Catwoman1 and I have been through and counted up the returned Statements of Support and the numbers are staggering, given that we have only being running the campaign 19 days!
We currently have the following -
638 Local Statements and therefore members of Residents FOR Newmarket
1053 Statements from the Wakefield MDC in addition to the local Statements from Wakefield included in the above number.
250 Statements from mostly Leeds and around the region, in addition to the local Statements from Leeds included in the above number.
We have significant numbers of Statements of Support from Methley, Oulton, Rothwell, Woodlesford, Moorhouse and Bottomboat included in the above.
We also have 93 Statements that we feel are not completed fully and in the main people have signed them but not put down an address.
The distance record for Statements of Support received goes to... 2 from Aberdeenshire! I think that beats the objections from Kent in distance by some way!
Also, the planning Inspectorate informed me that they had quite a large number of Statements sent directly to them by post!
So, the target is now 1000 local Statements of Support and 3000 from Wakefield and the region.
Do you think we can get there in maybe another week or so?
Thanks again everyone, this is amazing! No longer can any news or media report say that there is or has been large, great, significant, much (etc, etc) local objection to the application... we have already proved that this is simply untrue!

| And for my 5000th post on RLFans,
I'm going to say a big thank you to everyone concerned in RfN especially you (IA) and Catwoman1.
Those numbers simply destroy the notion that no one local to the proposed development wants it to happen!
I wonder what the response will be from our self interested activist friends

Cool 5,000th post on a thread I started... I am honoured!
Thanks to everyone out there for doing the leg-work, all I did was write a few things down, but the hard work has been done by everyone out there!
We had quite a good time counting them all to be honest, every time we counted a Methley or Woodlesford one we cheered... well it made us smile!
I did toy with not posting the numbers yet but then I thought people need to know how much of a difference they are making and impact they are having. As far as the objection groups are concerned, I am genuinely not that interested in what they do or don't do, I am just interested in what we are doing and what we will continue to do in the future!

I am embarrassed to be out of the loop on this as I don't know how to help...been working away an not concentrating!
I'm sure there is a thread somewhere but to save me the time...How do I do the letter of support IA? and is Stanley local or Wakefield?

There is a sticky at the top of the page called Statements of Support, you can find all the details and a link to download the Statement and print. We are collecting the completed Statements at various collection points, just so we can count and collate them and save the Planning Inspectorate some work! We need your full name and full address and they should be signed and dated.
As for Stanley then yes, you are local! We have used an approx. 3 mile wide zone from the centre of the site as being local and the areas covered are also in the sticky post.
Obviously, while local statements are important so are any Statements of Support.... so keep em coming!

| One more will be on it's way from Rothwell - I thought I'd sent it off already but found it while moving some other stuff. Will drop off at the shop tomorrow ... or Kev's chippy might be worth a visit tonight as that saves me cooking !
By the way, over the last few weeks I received documents from both the standing Lib Dem councillors and the prospective Labour candidate for Rothwell both expressing they are against this project. I have e-mailled both saying that I believe they should be supporting the new jobs created in the area - indeed I think Leeds should have been looking to do have a retail / industrial park of their own to the north of the junction. Neither has responded to my comments.
