Well today confirmed to me why I am deffo not going to cardiff

1. Home of Rugby Union in Wales having stood through the dross of Leeds v Gloucester that was pure purgatory

2. Then stood through Leeds and Wakey. It was freezing.

3. So to sit through 4 games in Wales is a deffo non starter for me even morse so when the opposition on this date is in our own back yard yet they play 100's of miles away for whet?

The roof will be shut so it will be warm inside.

It will be a fantastic carnival atmoshphere all weekend with plenty of beer, i will def be there and i can't wait!

I have been there in Febuary before for a different event and even with a completely full stadium and a closed roof it was still freezing.

Not been at that time myself so will take your word for it, i still think it will be a fantastic weekend and after months with no games i can't wait, just hope it's the same result as last time we played there

Absolutely; and after watching the games played in an empty stadium on Sky, various RFL bods will appear in the media, waxing lyrical about what a marvellous success the event has been.

I think i will join you in that. I have been working in Cardiff for the last six weeks and the marketing for this event is not existant and the locals have no idea it is on. So basically the rfl are expecting "the north" to travel to South Wales so they can come out with the dross that is there is a market for it there!

Also when i enquired about keeping my apartment on for that weekend the price doubled as there was "an event" on!

Seems to me that the businesses are happy for it to take place to line their pockets but their is no support to promote the game to the locals!

I mentioned it last year but the RFL should be in all the local schools, allocating a SL team to the schools for them to support with free tickets dished out. Visits from the teams' players and mascotts should take place in uh week prior to the event.

It will take a while for this event to grow into something worthwhile, but it needs encouragement from the governing body to sell the weekend to the locals rather than hoping for supporters from the north to travel in great numbers.

It will probably be the last one that we are playing in at least for a few years anyway. Therefore I will be trying to get to as many games as possible before our Super League adventure ends. That said I wont be going to Cardiff as I'm off to Sierra Leone instead!

Deffo not going was freezing last year in Edinburgh and can't see Cardiff been any different, will be sitting with a crate and menu for a take away close to hand and save my cash for Aug and the cc weekend and hopefully some better weather....

Was going to go but not now.

It needs to be on a bank holiday weekend so we don't have to use annual holidays. My wife and I have been every year and made it into a weeks holiday, however as much as I like Cardiff, spending a week there in Feb is just not appealing.
