| The word was invented for Wakefield Trinity.
Financial crisis follows financial crisis.
Year on year,nothings changes.
No one but ourselves to blame when we are kicked out of super league.
I wouldnt let them directors run an egg and spoon race, never mind a professional sporting club.
Once again they turn us into the laughing stock of the game.

| The word was invented as a noun for the table used by ye olde butchers to display the meats they had for sale. Shambles was then adopted as place names for streets or squares in old towns and cities where butchers would congregate regularly.
No, the situation at this moment in time doesn't look good. Yes, it seems that we are covering old murky territory. But, have a read of the club statement and have faith. It'll be fine. The tax man are following protocol and a death howl cannot be heard yet.

The same protocol that has affected how many other super league clubs - twice within around a year??
Have faith in a club that didnt even have the common sense to use due dilligence when getting involved with Pearman.
Have faith in a club that puts out statments concerning the financial affairs of the club and its own chairman.
No,afraid not,the one thing i dont have,is faith in the board that run my club.

| The situation whereby what the club think we owe to what HMRC know we owe has happened for a 2nd time.
This doesn't seem to happen at other clubs, how about we get some better financial advisors / accountants that actually know what there doing.

| Bearing in mind that many of us have probably received letters from the Tax Office this week regarding their cock up it's possible that the Tax Office could be wrong.

I can't see the Tax man not checking his calcs before proceeding to obtain a winding up order. We need to accept its another royal cock-up by our inept BOD and the sooner we do and the sooner they "do one", the better chance we have of coming out of this the other side

| I seem to remember that all clubs with the exception of Leeds and Hull have made huge losses over the last few years. We have made a smaller loss than most. The effect of running at a loss is that you run out of cash, ergo you cannot pay your bills, unless you have a wealthy backer who underwrites the losses. The man at London paid in 1.2 million last year to keep it afloat, and he only ownes 30% of the shares, last week Jack Foulton paid in £ 300,000 to Cas in order to keep them going, Moran at Warrington puts in fortunes so does Davey at Huddersfield, Wilkinson at Salford keeps them afloat, The RL keep Crusaders going, Saint Helens survive because they have a wealthy lawyer backing them as do Hull KR. Bradford have suffered without a sugar daddy, what a fall from grace. All these clubs would fail without a wealthy backer. Foultons £ 300,000 will not be spent on players it will be used to pay of creditors, tax bills etc. Hats of to Foulton I wish he was a Wakey fan.
The only difference between us and the other clubs is that we do not have a wealty backer to write a cheque to the club to cover the losses. So year on year we have to cut costs in order to cover our losses, if we lost say £ 200,000 last season on trading then we have to cut our costs for next season, so less to spend on players etc
Lets hope, in order to break the cycle, that all those wealthy people in Wakefield who we keep hearing about on hear, who have been shy with their money because they want Ted to move on now come forward. My fear is that these people are mostly ` bar room backers ` they talk the talk but will they walk the walk, we shall see because now is the time to do you bit.
In order for a SL club to prosper it needs a home gate of 15,000. ( Hull KR report that they now need a 10,000 home gate in order just to break even ) or you need a Sugar Daddy who can put in £ 450,000 a year ( reported average SL club losses p.a )
This situation begs the question what is the point of giving a SL licence to a geographical area, the way the game is now then the Licence should be given to the Sugar Daddys, or let them bid for a licence.
From the figures I have seen the only clubs that are prospering without a sugar daddy are Leeds, Hull and Wigan, these clubs all have huge, by RL standards, paying support.

And each of those clubs over the years (although Wigan moreso this year than previous) have supplied a product to the paying support. That product been entertainment during match days.
The reason our paying support goes up and down is because we never actually deliver that product on a weekly basis. The amount of times the club have marketed something new to attract a big crowd only to see the team get walloped 46-10 or something will never keep those new fans. Over the past two years the quality and entertainment on the field has demised in a shocking way and thus our paying support still only sits around the 4-5000 mark at a push.

And yet when we got our first home play-off in decades, no-one turned up! Was this due to having a poor side - a side that finished 5th - or was it due to other factors, or even just lethargy?
The major factors in all this, IMO, is that the stadium holds us back - as a business as well as for licencing purposes. We need to get people into the habit of going to games and, again IMO, we have shown that the product on the pitch is just not enough whilst we remain at BV - and possibly not even then, but we have to believe that it will. In fact the reality is that we paid too much for the squad in 2009, got the result on the pitch (apart from the play-off game), but didn't get the result on the terraces. We then had to balance the books. The same has happened again in 2010 - except this time, circumstances have worked against us and the results have just fallen away.
We need 2 things to move forward - and 2 things only. One is new investors and the other is the ground. I honestly believe that we have a very bright future with them in place, but we have to ride this storm out first!

You’re right Phil, the Stadium issue is holding us back, however, in the short term the club has to cut their cloth to suit. They don’t appear to have done this.

| Jack Fulton has not invested another £300, 000 into Castleford. I suggest you check facts beforeposting complete Rubbish. In fact there could be a takeover at Cas in the near distant future due to Jacks health and lets just say a very wealthy lady is ready to take Castleford forward.

Not that it bothers me to any great deal , but if he didn't, why did your own fans suggest this was the case after your recent AGM?
