Since my post some time ago stating my disaffection with the ambition or lack of it from the club admin I've seen many more supporters give up the cause too.
I've begun to think is this a deliberate ploy to run the club down deliberatly.
Point 1,
Super league now has a definite inbalance in that 7 Yorkshire clubs
only 4 Lancs clubs and 3 others.
Point 2
Is the thinking that should Trin be relegated, go under, whatever would there be less of an outcry if the support base were less as is now the case ?????
Point 3
The silence from the club is deaffening and is leading to all sorts of speculation regarding the future, I feel that every other club in SL would have been doing everything possible to put things right both on and off the pitch.

Ted was the only Chairman willing to merge the last time round, is the club being manuevered into that scenario again.

No the club is just totally inept in many areas.

and will remain that way until Ted and his cronies move on. Sadly that won't happen until the stadium is built, and that won't happen until the council actually progress the planning application.

The fact that we have another year in the top flight is a key factor for me in our obvious lack of ambition. No gurantee means the clubs hands are tied. Players can only come for one year if they want to come at all, and coupled with the fact that its sht or bust unless we get a new stadium, all focus is understandably on Newmarket.

Ted won't move until Newmarket is complete and as a consequence we as supporters will be treated to a feast of inept "rugby", if you can call it that, with no real need to concentrate on anything other than a new stadium.

It's a horrible situation we find ourselves in, and sadly the only ones who can rectify it are WMDC.

We've had 11 years to sort it out and failed.

Ted over the years has always said he would step aside if someone else could do a better job, could take us further and indeed would not put the club at risk, after all he is a supporter first.
Well ted your still clinging on as best you can, despite your years of inafective stewardship and dismissal of outside benefactors.
Could it be the RFL for once could be our knight in shining armour, and force this idiot out, because he's trying to hang on despite his previous claims.

I wouldn't get too excited - if Ted is relieved of the chair of teh BoD, there are several cronies and family members waiting in the wings to carry on his legacy.

Agree entirely, step forward Diane. Even if Ted is forced to step down he will still be on the board in everything but name.

I don't think that anyone will touch the club with a barge pole while ever Ted or any of his staff are anything to do with the club. A few people have said this before even people who know Ted and Eric really well.

I can't find anything in the RFL operation rules about a director of a SLE member club being inelegible to act as a director in the event of a personal "insolvency event". If the insolvency event was directly between Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and a creditor, then yes, Ted would no longer be able to act as a director of the club.........but as far as I can recall, Ted has stated this is a personal issue and does not involve the club at all. Does this mean the BBC blog is just the usual media knackers......or does it mean that the deal which went sour does, in fact, include the club in some capacity?

I agree with earlier posters......who in their right mind would take the club on in it's present state?

Is anyone suggesting Ted is a bad person? I can't understand why everyone is down on him... he is not raping the clubs finances and the tax bill last year proves that we are a club that runs close to the wind.

I don't think he's a bad person - just the wrong person to be running the club IF we have ambition.

As for sugar daddy's; hasn't Johnathon France made several approaches? I think he has access to more sugar than Ted & Co.

France is not the answer IMHO. Look beyond the (admittedly quite slick, if blatently sexist) marketing and their operation is hardly big time, as anyone who has ever dealth with them will recognise. I suppose we would have a great team when the price of stainless was high.....

Could have sworn they're now called Eric France Precious Metals, or similar. Whatever the case, whether you've got a couple of gold fillings you'd like to trade in or an old east stand full of steel, the market seems to have dictated their sporting involvement quite radically over the years, and they don't seem to be in it for the long haul. Just my impression, of course.

Do we need them to be in it for the long haul though? Posters who know more then me about the clubs finances say Ted has not put money in for a while and were self sufficient. That being the case than a 2 to 3 year cash injection from the Frances could be just the catalyst we need for building a strong platform for our last year at BV and early years when we are in the new stadium.

If I were Ted, I would be tempted to say if you agree to provide x per season and put the lump sum up front in a trust for the club, then lets do the deal.

Cash injections would be marvellous. What happens when the cash is ejected though, as the EF involvement in motorsport showed?

Jonathan France is currently banned from being a Director of any company. So he's a no go for being figurehead of the club. The Frances might have money but as with previous companies they've put them in to admin when things get tough. Something that would kill our club if it ever happened.
