Any idea what the turn out will be for the "whacky weekend" or indeed care


Less than 20k tickets sold, its a wash out.

But the local smelly population will increase it to 50k.

I will be really interested to hear how Sky and the RFL spin it if it is a poor showing this time.

Got to applaud the RFL for giving it a try, but it has felt like it has run its course since its move to Edinburgh. People seemed to genuinely like Cardiff, and so it would have been interesting to see how it would have fared had it stayed there.

Think Peacock and JK have got it right: have an opening spectacular in the North.

RFL should also have "capped" the accomadation and travel costs...charges this weekend are in line with melbourne storms "cap" !

The Melbourne approach is good for husbands who have lied to their wives about the cost (or vice versa), as they will say it cost one thing when really it cost double, and, like Melbourne, if you get found out, you won't score again all year.

Less than 20k sold every club down on sales apart from Salford...

Wakey down 1k from last year although other clubs are down more than this.

Scotland RU sold around 1k to locals so far after a hefty marketing package from the RFL.

Not looking too great is an understatement!

Jamie Peacock and others have the right idea of staging a big weekend event for the first game of the season and launch of the superleague. Fans starved of rugby are keen to see their team play - new signings are on show and its not the week after the easter break where everyones skint!

Well I was going - should have been on the road now, but a blown gearbox has put paid to that!

You only have to look at the responses on the club websites to work out this year's Magic weekend isn't being supported. Last year i went in a group of 9, all of which bought tickets for both days. This year only 6 of us have bought tickets and that's just for the saturday.

The fixtures are shocking and if i'm honest the only game i'll watch is Wakefield v Leeds. Shame really as last year even without the derby games there was interest in other games.

Superduppafandaddybleedingdozy or Crap in realistic terms , sorry if i offend but some find Edinburgh a little bit scottish so for this reason they will not travel . Due to the animosity between us we could offer free tickets n a pie to the locals but because its mainly English they will not attend . How the hell can the RFL undo almost 1900 years of hurt . Maybe Hadrian had a point.

Been working in Edinburgh this week in and around the Princes Street area and haven't seen any advertising anywhere, not even in the couple of boozers I went in.
Saw half a dozen car loads of Pies coming up the M6 earlier this afternoon, with all flags flying.
They looked too smug so I gave them the forks.

Edinburgh is fine. Jocks -sort of fine its just a long way to travel to watch one game. Yes others are available and I can watch it on the telly but even some of the fixtures have nothing about em. At home you can fast forward if need be.
