After just watching the game again on sky i want to apologise..missed a good chunk of pre season and needs to get back to full fitness but i am giving benefit of the doubt...keep it up matt or smurph will be taking your place..
btw..how many other teams can boast a 21 year old who can play centre, wing, fullback and second row !!
aaron murphy will be a star of the future..(ex churwell lad as well )

| I just do not understand why this fella gets so much stick good solid performance yet again last night came up with a try and a drop and was in the right place in defence on more than one occasion to save a try
I can only think of 2 maybe 3 better fullbacks i have seen at Trinity since 75 mind you gave used to get some stick

He's brilliant. Best thing since sliced bread. Far better than that Blaydire we used to have. Should have kept Fox. Etc.

| We don't have to worry about full back, Blaymire will be solid throughout the season and will bag his fair share of tries.
I think he got some stick because people saw his immediate inclusion as unfair on Murphy which has some justification due to Murphy's excellent early season form.
When George was injured it was always going to be Murphy who switched because he has more versitility than Blaymire.

He got stick last year and the year before so the Murphy thing was just a ready made excuse.

Like to think you have learnt a lesson but I doubt it. Blaymire had a poor game last week along with 16 others (Morrison the exception). Yesterday he gave the incumbant and usually excellent England FB a master class in FB play.
FFS give Blaymire a break, technically the hardest position on the pitch and generally he excels at it. We have a gem of a player here if only folk would open their eyes!

| Quite a few fans in crowd last night on Blaymire's back in the first half. He answered his critics in the best possible way with a solid second half, scored a try and his first drop goal.

good job then that murphy got back to make the tackle blaymire missed in the first half wasn't it ? i wasn't dissing blaymire, just commented that he may be getting back to full fitness but if you want to get to excellent full back play then murphy takes the ball in far stronger, is much quicker and faster to react. blaymire had a good season last year but murphy being only 21 looks a better bet for the future already..and i would prefer to see him in the starting line up at the moment!
mr vastman will probably not agree but as we all know he is always but always CORRECT !!!

| Blaymire is a natural full-back, he has the intuition to read the game and know exactly where the kick is going and the safe pair of hands to catch it.
If Matty had the pace that Murphy has then he would be easily be pushing for the England full-back shirt, unfortunately he hasn't and therefore doesn't offer that added dimension of attacking flair. But what he does offer is the reassurance that we have an excellent and dependable last line of defence.

Except when Hull broke though the other night and Blaymire wasn't fast enough to get across. Murphy came from behind him to make the tackle. Murphy has to be the first choice full back.

I disagree 100%, weak link don't make me laugh, i've seen some pour excuses for a full back in sl and he isn't one of them. Solid if unspectacular. He'll do for me and id be happy seeing him in the eng squad.
Anyone want mathers? pratt? no didnt think so.

T'other side of the coin is he probably takes more bombs/kicks than any other player in SL safely, and he looked good enough to beat is opposite numer when he scored friday.
For me he lacks pace, but so does PW.

So he couldn't track across and get him on that occasion. Still it's a team game and the winger who should have been there any way did his job. Every player makes mistakes in a game, it's how they respond and with a try, a drop goal, a number of good takes and tackles Blaymire passed the test.
This ridiculous attempt to big up Murphy as the dogs of a FB over Blaymire is utterly pathetic based on 4 games, two of those against bottom clubs. People like you just have a bee in your bonnet and can't admit you might have been wrong and then over compensate by finding faults that are not there - grow up.
