| Dropped. They seem to think he has played his last game for KR and the talk is we are in for him on a seasons long loan. Coaches have their players and players have their coaches ,he would probably flourish again under JK.

| If this is true, the only downside is that the vacancy for him would probably be at loose forward, as you would want both BJ and Brough on the park. He has played loose forward before at Hull FC, but if he is unhappy playing it at his boyhood team, how will he fare at our place? I presume then that JD would go into the second row and it would sideline Hendo. And is there are a risk of too many playmakers?
Not my decision though, and I trust the people who make them.

| When on form he is a good player.
At least the two hat would not score against us in the next derby,if he signs for Wakey.

| When was the last time he was on form for any significant period? Whilst he does in theory offer something very different creatively, these moments seem fewer and further between them to make it worthwhile and to say he's a big lad, his defence somewhat suspect and would weaken what our pack offers. He is a player who annoys me greatly because he wastes his talent.
Everytime I see him play he looks unfit and not that interested to me. Whilst I credit JK's ability to get the best out of players, I just find it hard to see that Cooke has it in him to make the best of the back end of his career if he cannot do it at his dream club.

Yes. He was waiting at the 110 bus stop by the Talbot & Falcon.

| For me its simple..
I'd have Cooke in at 13, JD or Ferguson to partner Morrison in second row. Obst and Latu rotate as normal play another prop (King of Bibb) alongside Moore and either JD/Fergy on the bench. Hendo/Bibb/Johnson and the likes can fight for the other spot.
Obst aint a playmaker of me .. Cooke would give us more balance. JD Obst Latu and co can concentrate on line breaks
Worth a punt...

Can't be true Cooke would never be outside a pub at a time when buses were running.

| might get shot down here but cooke would add a lot to the squad IMHO , when brough went off yesterday we did not even have a recognised goal kicker this panicked us into trying to score within kickable range for sam whereas in reality the left hand corner looked the best option. cooke would come with the same gift wrap as a few other bad boys but i believe that he played his best ever football under kear and with brough.
its funny how we forget how many bad boys we have

If Cooke is our only option i'd rather we play a youngster or even have JD in the halves. The whole reason these lads are in the squad is as cover and JK will use them at some point as he did with Davey last night, Morton and Murphy thus far.
Paul Cooke has been disruptive at Hull FC and then KR, why bother taking the risk on a player who in my opinion has no desire and pride in playing rugby and will cost a considerable amont. I'm sure there are players knocking around through loans or lower leagues who could do a job for us. Cooke in my opinion is not one of them, obviously you disagree, that's life.

| I would not want a idiot like him to disrupt a happy dressing room hope we stay away from him. We could do with a fast second row forward or a prop or another centre as the jury is out on glesson for me.

For once can't we just trust Kear, it's not like he hasn't proved the doubters wrong time and again.
I keep saying this but it falls on deaf ears, GIVE PLAYERS A CHANCE and put the past behind them.
Bibey, Henderson, Latu, Moore, Brough, BJ, Korkidas, Snitch.
The odd dud like Sculthorpe though even he had his moment and of course Newton but clearly no one saw that coming.
It's not an attack on you by the way, but clearly Kear knows far more about SL players and the dynamics of our team than all of us put together

My point made, is this the sort of nonsense Kear should listen too?
NGBC at what point during the season do you think you will have to come on here with one of your "I got it wrong but..." grovelling apologies should we sign Cooke

I look at it this way, Cooke can be a class act that will never change. Kear is a good coach, however to justify that he needs silverwear in the long term. He knows to break into that elite group he needs to take some risks. Not every player can be a Sam Obst style safe bet, sometimes you have to take a flyer.
Kear no fool, he once said that the sort of qualities required to be a great player are not the ones you would look for in a person in everyday life, in fact quite the opposite in SOME case.
It's like Brough, I think we all felt though the normal suspects won't admit it that he was a don't touch with a barge pole player. Kear trusted his ability and it has paid off handsomly. If he can do it again Cooke would be an inspired signing but only Kear can prove it, in which case I back him.
