Cracking idea, seem to remember our players getting confused at the JJB in a game when their clock on the score board was showing time was up.

Not bad until clock stopped working with 17 mins and 19 seconds left. Took ages for the correct timing to appear again! Thought Swiss clocks were the best!

I thought the same until we got home and heard there had been a power cut which apparently affected both the clock and the radio reporters !

I loved the reference to Swiss clock making in the press release. I was expecting one of those Rolex's from Wimbledon! That was more Maplins than Rolex.

i just wish I could see the clock, what a terrible place to position it for 40% of the crowd. At least the announcer gave the scores out today (v Catalan) unlike the other announcer who gives everything out but the score. How about the club putting the clock where the old scoreboard used to be (now sadly gone, and they call it progress. T- G -DG -Score,ah! informative but simple.)

I too was expecting something similar to the Rolex at Wimbledon. I also thought with the article talking about it being sponsored and provided by Polar, i was expecting a much larger electronic sign with Polar being prominently sponsored around the clock.

It was not very visible even if you could see it. JK struggled to read it from where we were, and I even had to point it out to him that it had stopped at one point. And then after it went to zero did they then add a minute on at the end???

Good idea, but needs work IMHO.

Why don't they put the clock on the scaffold tower at the Donny rd end where the sky camera goes ? I know they would have to run power to it but at least everyone would be able to see it.

I remember years ago John Glancy made comment that when the players could see the clock it potentially cost them games; as they were counting down to the end of the match then conceded late tries. That was the days when the clock was where all the boxes are now behind the sticks. (Still doesn't explain the painful loss at home to Leeds last season).

Listening to Radio Leeds at the game, they had a power cut in press box which also affected clock, they spent more time commenting on this than on the game. Although must admit did not see the clock till they mentioned where it was.



Suppose it needs someone to stop/start it, bit dicey on a stool up there. Also what about when Sky come to town.
