OOh,dear whats happened to the 18s they looked quite well last week

,did they have a starting strong team?

the 18s at wigan are a decent side

while the "A"Team are the champions from last year

Grand Finalists in both forms last year and now top of the table in both grades this year as well.

what ive seen of wakey 18s , there is a lot of quality,they just need to be fielded correctly,once thats sorted out they will be a top side.

Just a shame they never make the first team !!!!!

What like O'loughlin,Sam Tomkins,Joel Tomkins, Hock,Ainscough,Prescott, O'carroll,Hansen and Mcolorum (admittedly Mc is not local but came through our academy set up).
Just as a matter of interest how many local lads are in your first team squad, genuine question not trolling.

Think we've got Brough Blaymire Murphy Pitts Ferguson who i think are local and Bibb(Hull?) that have all come through our set up which compared to wigan isn't great but compared to were the club was 3-4 years ago with 14 out of 17 1st teamers being foreign we're making great strides foward and is only getting better.

You gotta say well done to Wakey for turning that round, to go from having so many overseas players to majority English is good work, and its working for them.

Ps think Blaymire and murphy are from Leeds.

Just out of interest, how many of the existing 18s started there scholarship with wakefield?

You can add George and Snitch to that list along with Southernwood waiting in the wings for a chance, also Blake and Davey have both played first team this season

You can add Atkins and George if you like as both were signed elligeble for Academy.

Does it matter? the fact is that they all came through our academy team to get to where they are now, whether it was because their original clubs wouldn't give them a chance or not is irrelevant, we coached them from their formative years in the professional game up to SL standard.

No, it doesnt matter,i was just wondering how many have been there from day 1. I understand that in a lot of clubs, no matter how good the player is, if his face dont fit they get outed,one way or another, just think of the talent thats been let go because of this.
