And rightly so.

I would personally rather there be a week off, this is a great deal to take in, for me there will be too much passion on the day, the players minds will have a different focus which can be dangerous in our great game. I would hope that at sometime in the future we could get away from a mins silence and go for a mins applause. Reading up on the lad he sounds the life and soul of the party, I for one would rather us show our appreciation for playing the game rather than the silence as all too often the silences are spoiled by the one or 2 idiots.

After the imbeciles disrespecting the Watene minutes silence I would agree with BC. A minute’s applause would drown out crass comments uttered when everyone else is quiet. It also avoids escalation with the people confronting the idiots who can’t keep their hold shut.

It is extremely difficult to hold your tongue when the idiots do this, one day someone will make one of those crass comments whilst stood next to the wrong person and hell could break loose.

There making a decision tomorrow about if its going to be on or not on friday.

This happened at Knowlsey Road earlier this season. I waited for the silence to end before apprehending the culprits with a clip round the back of the head and telling them to get out of my sight and learn to show some respect.

I would not think twice about doing it to someone on Friday if needed.

I, for one, am glad the game will be going ahead. What more fitting tribute to a lad who obviously loved the game enough to play at that level while working, than playing the game he loved (and through gritted teeth) and honouring him with a win.

A minutes silence is a lot better than a minutes appaulase that is used in sports where the fans cant keep shut for a minuite if you get someone stupid enough to shout or make noises with thier phones they should be barred for life FULL STOP.

Lets hope everyone observes the minutes silence either way...

I can't decide whether it's a good or bad thing that the game is going ahead. I can't imagine the atmosphere...

Either way I think we'll all pull together to give him a good sending off on Friday night.

It's now that the club need our support more than ever after all the shock waves that have hit the club of late.

So let's get to the game in numbers Friday and show our respect to Leon and also get behind the lads and help them at this tough time

Its a minutes silence for me. I know what you mean regarding the idiots but we should not change things just for a few scum bags.

Not just for the idiots, we can all sit and have a moments silence with ourselves whenever we need to say the little things and pay our respects that way, i would like for every game to kick off at the same time and just have the most amazing show of appreciation from every supporter that will attend every game. I appreciate that this will not happen but they are my feelings, we should celebrate people more when we have lost one.

Simply unacceptable.

I think a minutes silence followed my a massive round of applause covers both nicely.

I hope fans of both clubs come out in numbers to pay their respect for him and everyone honours the silence impeccably.

TBF yes there are some idiots but sometimes it's accidental - people not aware when entering a ground, leavings bars and toilets etc etc. Lets not make too much of this I'm fairly sure everyone at BV will do their best - maybe there will be a few who don't but we can't let them get in the way or tar everyone with the same brush. If it's accidental then your not aware of your actions and, in my opinion, it's not disrespectful because you don't know what's going on. i'm talking about the idiots who do it for a laugh, it's just not acceptable.

IMO a minutes applause is better because it drowns out he sound of idiots and it applaudes and appreciates their achievements in life.

Let the idiots make a fool of themselves and show themselves for the twits that they are - and I hope they all get treated in the same way as those Ski mentioned earlier.

I prefer the silence, a time for reflection and as I said later that can easily be followed by spontaneous applause anyway.

I don't condon 'physical' behaviour, but if I do find myself near an idiot who is disrespecting Leon, I will not think twice about throwing them out after the minutes silence is over.....makes my blood boil just thinking of it.
