Some are, like some Hull FC supporters are. Apart from when Wakefield were 'THE' force in RL in the 60's, the other era I have enjoyed watching was, surprisingly when Hull FC were at their best with the likes of Toppo, O'Hara et al!
So good luck with Ellis! No doubting his motives for choosing Hull though and perhaps they may win something as well!

The signing of Ellis is viewed, rightly or wrongly, as very similar to our signing of Knocker. He was the one who then convinced Sammy Lloyd and Toppo to join us, others then followed.

No right-minded supporter even dreams that Ellis will make us a top club on his own. What his signing has done is signal our intentions, after years of being stifled by Kath Hetherington and her appointments, that we are no longer happy with a mid-table finish. Adam Pearson has not only made all the right noises, he's backed them up with his actions. He's only just begun.

Can you go and gloat elsewhere, no-one is interested in Pearsons millions on here. Your club is of zero importance to us, plus the fishy stench is somewhat sickly.

A strong league is a lot of strong clubs. If Hull can maintain a presence amongst the big boys, then there are seven credible Grand Final clubs:
Leeds
Saints
Wire
Wigan
Huddersfield
Catalan
Hull FC

Go back three years, and it was Leeds and Saints, and that was it, as credible, you wouldn't bet against it, grand finalists. That has to be healthy. We just need to strengthen the middle pack of clubs now. Bulls have the potential to come good again, because the crowd potential is there, and I genuinely think that the Wakefield of 2017 will be a much different Wakefield to the one we have now.

Good comparsions between Johnson and Inglis/Marshall, I think we might have slightly more chance of signing Johnson than you have the other two though.

So how can Hull have signed Johnson at this stage of the season without breaking all the rules in the book?
I don't know how long Johnson's contract is but he seems happy at Wakefield- I think the way things are moving at Wakefield, players will think twice before leaving.
We've been at the top of the pile before (along time ago agreed) and we can do it again. May have had false aspirations before but this time things are moving in a positive and professional way.
We have as much future potential as Hull FC in my opinion!

Can't see how Johnson has signed as it's well before approach deadline. Heard today that a club had made an illegal approach for Whitehead at Bratfud before he signed a new deal. Will be interesting to see if it comes to anything.

Good signing by Hull. Pleased for them. I look forward to a time when we can offer big money and compete for players of this calibre.

Just came a bit too early for us IMO.

Provided we get the news we all want and hope for in the next couple of months we will progress and be genuine contenders for these big name signings.

As Johnson has been mention does anyone know if out of contract end if season. If so does anyone think this deal is done already.

It's funny how the Hull fans only started commenting on the thread after Mr Ellis had signed, why not comment before ? If your reasons for being on here are other than gloating.

The vast majority of players in super league players will know where they'll be playing at next season whether that be with their existing club or a different club. Don't kid yourselves that they won't

Cockayne would be happy with that, extremely happy and would like to play out his career with us. I know he's got his doubters but so far even the most doubtful must ber impressed by what they have seen.

my only doubt is not his ability on the field if he keeps doing what he has started for us then I've no probs with him

He's started a business as a personal trainer, channeling his thoughts and talents in all the right ways now.

Think Cockayne has done well up to press and has deservered a longer deal. Johnson is another i'd like to see stay, a real grafter.

Who else is OCC at the end of the season? Smith? Morton? Davey? Who else?
