If Rob Powell can hold down a job in SL, I'm pretty sure Richard Agar can.

And just like Powell he's got a long contract, shocking, just shows its not what you know.

Yes we need a captain who is on the pitch more but the players need to up things for the next game.

Southern seems out of shape to me. He can't play enough minutes to justify being captain. You know what he is far from my favourite player but the best bet seem to be mathers.

A full-back is often the best choice for skipper. They usually spend the 80 minutes on the field and their field of view usually gives them the best panorama. They do require the mental capacity to be a skipper though and I think that's where Mathers could fall short.

I agree Mathers could be captain; but i think he has mental capacity to be captain- he has high amounts of confidence and seems to get on well with the team. I know those are not the full list of everything you need to be a captain, but I think he would be a good candidate

Hull struggle to make play-offs season after season they get rid of Agar and hey presto joint second with a game in hand

It was surprisingly quiet on here last week when we beat Catalans, we lose a game and suddenly it's open house from the Hull lot with their opinions on our coach. Is that going to be the pattern this season? When we win we don't hear a peep, when we lose we get poop...

He started really well but in my view, has looked poor since being forced to play at prop; he's not big enough and as a result, gets bashed up every week.

It's not just one bad game our completion rate all season is lousy our respect for the ball is woeful can someone tell Smith the rules of RL say you pass the ball backward

FWIW I'm confident we have the raw product of an international here.

What we have to do is support his transition & development at every stage.

With Tony Kemp's recommendation to add to that of Henry Paul, Monty Betham & Hull FC that's quite a good list of referee's to call in. I wish I had similar people in my field to call in on my CV!!!

If any WT fan's haven't already check out the games on the NSW cup site (too lazy to post a link!- it's Saturday!) I'd advise in doing so!
IJ plays a good creative game, albeit in the #13 role & has a decent kicking game with ball in hand- something we lacked since Broughy left! He'll blossom at #6 IMO.

From the info the club has posted out/ what Isaac has posted on twitter; his transition seems to be seamless. His visa was relatively quick, he was impressed with pictures of his house & was greeted at the airport by the clubs most senior staff. Even the most "down to earth" WTW fan must see this is a world away from where we were 2 years ago. Take Shane Tronc (my favourite #8 EVER!) and how he was treated by TR et al. Sickening to say the least!

"The Glover approach" seems to be doing the business & I'm confident, that with our rapidly recuperating reputation & long established history, we'll be a big draw from player & sponsors in years to come.

As far as IJ goes (and I'm willing to be quoted on this at a later date!!): In 18 months we'll be worrying if we can get him to sign an extension to keep the vultures (giants) away, this lad has the potential to be as good as Henry Paul IMO.

Now it's Agar out. Come on. It was one bad game. Yeah, if we fade away and the Catalan game was our highlight, you might have a point, but talk about reversal. Did you see Warrington on Friday? Awful. Will they be awful on Thursday? Probably not. Yeah, the London game stunk, but every single team has a game where they stink every year. We got to round 9 with just one stinking 40 minutes on our CV.

You will never get consistency under Agar, I speak from experience when i say after every good win you know a demoralising defeat is round the corner, and we were a stronger team on paper than you are at the moment.

The only people to blame are the players - let everyone down - you can't polish a turd
