Exactly that's why I think the leaflet drop is worthless because the majority just go to the bin, the only way to find it it works is by offering invites with the leaflet to either the club shop giving a discount, or a game of their choice, did the leaflet have either option?

The purpose of this leaflet drop was 'Scattergun" as we used to call it. It is expected that 95% will probably be glanced at and go in the bin. The other 5% may get a response of some sort.

This approach was used mainly to remind people that the club was open for business again and had not disappeared during the pandemic. How it is used in the future now we've had a trial run may differ and be far more proactive.

What I don't get is your need to moan, complain and snipe. This drop was funded by some fans who liked the idea, it wasn't taken from the player budget or any other budget, it was a one-off.

You didn't contribute, your choice but that means it's got absolutely nothing to do with you, so butt out and show some respect to other fans who did what they thought best. Maybe even offer them the same gratitude they offered you when you did the crash barriers, or are you more important than the rest of us?

Leaflet drops are a numbers game.
Hopefully if you drop enough of them, you pick up enough business to cover the cost and when those people "buy again" you get a return on the original cost.
Of course most of them end up in the bin, just as the leaflets for pizza shops and supermarkets do and "we" may not have got this one right.
However, it was a fans initiative and cost Trinity nothing at all so, in that respect its a no lose or maybe a win/win.

But what bugs me is this was a fan initiative so why does it bother people in the way it seems to. I’d get it if it was the club paying for it when perhaps the money could have been spent elsewhere but it wasn’t.

It strikes me that the MC honeymoon is over with some and they just want to have a go. Two years ago I reckon nobody would have objected, a lot of uncalled for negativity has crept in aimed mainly at people doing their best under tricky circumstances.

Just been announced on Radio 5 that Hudds v Cas is off because Hudds can’t raise a side “due to Covid”, and the game’s been awarded to Cas, 24-0.

Calling off games due to Covid was bad enough but, this is just crazy.
A 24 - 0 reverse isn't a sufficient "punishment" and clubs need to be fulfilling their fixtures.

After the new massively reduced Sky deal runs out, RL will be worth the price of fish 'n' chips twice.
What on earth happened to having reserve sides and academy sides and clubs being professional enough to put a side onto the field of play.

Unfortunately that's what happens when the RFL have been so reliant on the Sky deal, killed the Championship coverage too.
