| Typical of sport in england though why play a player in form in his right position when you can pick players out of position and hope for an impact if you never try him how do you know hes not a worldbeater andy farrell was in wigan team at 16 just give the kid a chance while his confidence is up and hes playing and scoring well especially if our pack is beefed up this weekend for him to play behind

Don't really know tbh if he plays then it's because Chester plays him, my post was aimed at the poster who wanted Chester to keep the same team against Cas that beat Warrington, and when Chester complied and it went pear shaped in the second half, that said poster complained along with others that he should have included Fifita and Green in the team, I asked him if Chester did indeed play him as requested, would he be having another go at the coach for falling in line with his wishes if the lad didn't come up to scratch, hope that makes things a little bit clearer for you.

| Hi Wayne, wasn't having a dig at you,or anyone else for that matter,I was just pointing out that it seems the right time to play CB.Like others have said, we have a stronger pack out this weekend, and if we can cut out the unforced errors and mindless penalties,i'm quite optimistic for Sunday.

Im not sure that bringing a kid into a team struggling for form is wise tbh,

| My question about the kid and any kid coming in is, can they handle the physicality of the game.
He clearly has skills and a rugby brain, but if they don't match up in the game, the worse thing that could happen is we lose the game and we have to build his confidence up with more games in reserves etc.
If he isn't physically capable then not only is it going to affect the team but it can set him back for future, when he would have been ready, if you'd have waited.
You can guarantee if either he or Max plays at 7, they'll be running PP at them, so we need to be ready. That is why some are talking about Westerman instead. Personally I think Westerman would be fine, but we lose something elsewhere in the team. I'd have JW running the show in the middle with the forwards, taking the pressure off 6 and 7 for when they get the opportunity.

Unless PP as vastly improved then I don’t see a problem with Connor in defence, he’s a strong well built lad who if nothing on will take the line on like a forward and with good pace, I personally don’t see a problem playing Connor, but it’s not my call.

Well he doesn’t have to excel much to “ have the game of his life “ it’s a pretty low bar he’s set ...

Well, that's one player. Not many.
As for Pauli, he is THE laziest defensive player I've ever seen play.
Lazy technique and no desire to get there in the first place. Used to put in the odd shoulder charge before it was banned though.

| Ideal game to let the lad take the reins at half back ,Salford haven’t hit their straps yet so not like throwing him in at the deep end .Perfect stage for him to showcase his talents and let the coaching staff see how he goes stepping up to the challenge.

Conversely, our 'nippier' players should be running at PP

Just out of interest had you heard of him before his first half display against Widnes, I doubt not many on here had yet are clambering for his inclusion despite some on here who has monitered his progress as I'm sure the coaching staff have, personally I'd have thought that they've put him in the 21 for the experience, we'll find out tomorrow though.

To be honest I’ve not heard of a lot of players that have turned out for wakey over the years, some have gone on to be legends others legends for all the wrong reasons .

At the same time Daryl Clark was 18 when he made his debut against a big Hudds pack. Likewise Jordy Crowther against Wigan. Everyone has to start somewhere.

| I’m all for giving Bailey a chance but say he does a job, what then? Do we play him against Hull FC and Huddersfield?
I wanted to say something earlier in the week about a certain player but at the risk of getting shut down I decided against it but after his impressive game on the weekend I don’t know why we wouldn’t be looking at Myler.
He isn’t getting in over Gale or Lui and we’re desperate for a halfback, even a month loan would do for me.

I think Myler would be a great signing, like you say I can’t see him getting in above Gale or Lui and we should be looking at him for this season and beyond.
He would not have the pressure associated with playing for a “bigger” club and may settle and get back to his best at a club like Trin.
Not sure how long Miller has a contract for but for me not done enough last couple of years. Rocky to 6, Myler 7??

Very good point but if he did then there should not be a reason why he couldn't keep his place till the injuries clear up, with regards to Myler I think he's too good a player for Leeds to let go out on loan, or maybe Chester's happy to go with what we've got or because we can't afford him, or maybe Agar doesn't want to do us any favours, wouldn't be upset if he came though.

| For me, Myler had about 2 good seasons many moons ago and has lived off the back of them ever since. We went to the England v New Zealand match at Elland Road a couple of years ago when Myler played and we got nilled and I honestly didn't even see him on the pitch. But, I thought Miller was gash when he played for Hull and was so disappointed when we signed him, but he eventually came good (for a while anyway), but if we did sign Myler then we would have...
MYLER and MILLER
WOOD and WOOD
WALKER and WALKER
TANGATA and TANGINOA
ARONA and ARUNDEL
Could easily get confusing !!!!
